The Singaporean government delegation visits and works with PTSC.

Recently, the Vietnam Petroleum Technical Services Corporation ( PTSC ) welcomed a delegation from the Singaporean government to visit the PTSC Vung Tau downstream port and discuss a renewable energy export project. The delegation included representatives from the Singaporean Embassy in Hanoi , the Singaporean Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, the Singaporean Ministry of Trade, the Energy Market Authority (EMA), and its partner, Semcorp Utilities (SCU).

This visit follows PTSC's acquisition of a Conditional Import Approval from the Singaporean government at the end of 2023. During the visit, Singaporean government officials toured PTSC's state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment, among the most modern in the Asia- Pacific region, which are newly invested in to serve offshore renewable energy projects worldwide, including the renewable energy export project to Singapore. Mr. Le Manh Cuong, General Director of PTSC, said that this visit further strengthens the confidence of Singaporean authorities in choosing Vietnam as the final country to import approximately 4GW of clean electricity to Singapore from 2030. With the goal of commercial operation by 2033, PTSC has developed a roadmap from surveying and investment planning to developing offshore wind farms in Vietnam to produce and export approximately 1.2GW of clean electricity from Vietnam to Singapore via a high-voltage submarine cable.

Mr. Le Manh Cuong, General Director of PTSC, introduced the facilities and technology to the Singaporean government delegation.

According to representatives of the Singaporean government, this project will not only help Singapore achieve its goal of net zero emissions by 2050 but also further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Singapore and Vietnam, realizing the "Digital Economy - Green Economy Partnership" between the two countries. On the part of PTSC and SCU, after receiving the Survey Completion Certificates and Conditional Import Licenses to import clean electricity from Vietnam to Singapore from the relevant authorities of both countries at the end of 2023, PTSC and SCU are continuing to accelerate the implementation of subsequent work to successfully complete this transnational project.
