Cuban Small Farmers Association delegation begins official visit to Vietnam

This afternoon (October 25th), as part of their visit and working trip to Vietnam from October 25th to November 1st, the Cuban Small Farmers' Association delegation held talks with leaders of the Central Economic Committee and paid a courtesy call to the Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association.

At approximately 2 PM on October 25th, a delegation from the Cuban Small Farmers' Association, led by Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Cuban Small Farmers' Association, began its visit and working trip to Vietnam from October 25th to November 1st at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association.

Comrade Phan Nhu Nguyen, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Standing Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, presents flowers to Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Cuban Small Farmers' Association.

Immediately afterwards, Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Cuban Small Farmers' Association, held talks with Comrade Nguyen Duy Hung, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Committee.

Regarding opportunities for cooperation, the two leaders agreed that both sides will continue to promote the exchange of information and experience in advising on policy making and agricultural economic development. Through this, they will help and support each other in food production, agricultural extension, and the development of agriculture, farmers, and rural areas. In particular, they emphasized that Vietnam will always support Cuba in achieving food self-sufficiency.

Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega introduced the members of the delegation to Comrade Nguyen Duy Hung.

The two comrades exchanged particularly affectionate gestures.

Shortly afterwards, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Cuban Small Farmers' Association, paid a courtesy visit to Comrade Luong Quoc Doan, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association.

Comrade Luong Quoc Doan - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, and Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega, Chairman of the Cuban Small Farmers' Association, exchanged views and met in a warm atmosphere of comradeship and brotherhood.

According to the plan, from October 26th to November 1st, the Cuban Small Farmers' Association delegation will meet with leaders and visit successful household production and business models in Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Dong Nai, and Ho Chi Minh City provinces. The delegation will also visit the headquarters of the Nong Thon Ngay Nay/Dan Viet newspaper on October 29th.
