On September 8th, Comrade Nguyen Van Hoi, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department and Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, inspected the recovery efforts following Typhoon No. 3 in Tien Yen .

As of 9:00 AM this morning, floodwaters on the Tien Yen River are still rising. Directing efforts to mitigate the effects of Typhoon No. 3 in Tien Yen, Comrade Nguyen Van Hoi, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department and Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, requested the Tien Yen District Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue to instruct communes and towns to mobilize maximum local forces and coordinate with Tien Yen Urban Environment Joint Stock Company to trim and collect fallen trees caused by the storm, ensuring smooth traffic flow; Tien Yen Power Company to focus on resolving localized power outages and ensuring electricity supply within the day; and to review households affected by the storm to develop plans for remediation.
The comrade noted that localities need to proactively focus on plans to prevent landslides and flash floods caused by heavy rains following the storm; educate people not to be complacent and go to dams and spillways to collect firewood; review high-risk areas prone to landslides and flash floods due to post-storm effects; and concentrate on overcoming the consequences of the storm and quickly stabilizing life after the storm.
The comrade conducted on-site inspections at the Tien Yen overflow bridge area; the suspension bridge in Dong Dinh village, Phong Du commune; and the vulnerable Ha Thanh dike in Dong Hai commune. This dike, nearly 1,000 meters long, is responsible for protecting the lives of nearly 200 households with almost 700 people in Ha Trang Tay village, Dong Hai commune. The comrade requested that the local authorities proactively monitor floods on the Ha Thanh river to have a plan to evacuate people to safe places when floods overflow the dike, ensuring absolute safety of people and property.

According to preliminary statistics from Tien Yen district, as of 12 PM on September 8th, Typhoon No. 3 caused no casualties. 249 houses had their roofs blown off, including 6 completely destroyed and 243 partially damaged; 210 hectares of rice and other crops were flooded; and over 3,000 forestry trees were uprooted.
