In early September, the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, a worker at Cam Pha Stone Exploitation and Construction Materials Production Joint Stock Company (Quang Hanh Ward) unfortunately encountered a fire due to an electrical short circuit. Although there were no casualties, property was severely damaged, making the already difficult life of the family even more difficult. Immediately after the incident, the Quang Hanh Ward Trade Union promptly visited, surveyed the damage, and coordinated with businesses and mass organizations to support Ms. Thanh's family with 14 million VND.
“During the most difficult time, I was truly touched when union comrades came to visit, encourage and support me in repairing my house. That affection gave me the strength to overcome the incident and become more steadfast in life,” Ms. Thanh shared.
Comrade Do Ngoc Hai, Chairman of Quang Hanh Ward Union, said: “Caring for and protecting the rights of union members, especially female workers in difficult circumstances, is always the core task of the ward union. We consider it a responsibility, as well as a way to spread the spirit of solidarity and humanity in the community.”
Not only providing timely support to those in risky situations, the Coal - Minerals trade unions at all levels have also proactively implemented many practical programs to help women stabilize their lives. At Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company, the Women's Union surveyed and selected 5 female workers with special difficulties to participate in the Project "Supporting female workers to develop family economy " of the TKV Trade Union, phase 4, 2025. After the survey from the TKV Trade Union, approved households will be supported with breeding chickens, guidance on breeding techniques, disease prevention and sustainable flock development - opening up a stable, long-term direction.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, a worker at the Coal Selection Workshop, shared: “I am in poor health, raising 3 young children and taking care of my elderly mother, so my finances are very tight. Thanks to the union’s support for the chicken farming model, I have an additional source of income, reducing my burden and feeling cared for and encouraged to try harder.”
Ms. Nguyen Thi Van, Head of the Women's Union of Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company, said: "We always consider accompanying women not only to stop at material support, but more importantly to create motivation for them to be confident and proactive in their efforts. Through the project, many families have had more income, stabilized their lives, and thus have a long-term commitment to the mining profession."
Along with economic support, the units also pay attention to the physical and mental health of female workers. Recently, Cao Son Coal Joint Stock Company organized a specialized health check-up for 647 female workers, including cervical cancer screening and specific diseases. This activity not only helps women feel more secure about their health, but also shows the deep concern of the enterprise and trade union organization for the female workforce - a force that accounts for a large proportion in the coal industry.
From emergency support after natural disasters, to household economic development models, or regular health care programs, all show the accompanying role of the Trade Union in building a safe and humane working environment, where female workers are cared for, respected and given conditions for comprehensive development.
With the motto "Where there are workers in difficulty, there is a trade union", Quang Ninh trade unions at all levels are continuing to promote the spirit of mutual love and support, so that each union member, especially female workers, always feel the warmth of the common union home - a solid support in the journey of work and life.
