The Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project commenced in late 2022, with a total investment of over 4,800 billion VND. The main road is over 4km long, 25-48m wide with 6 lanes, and connects to two additional branches, 18E and C2, which are 3-4 lanes wide.

In addition to the overpass in front of Terminal 3 at Tan Son Nhat Airport, the project also includes two underpasses at the major intersections of Tran Quoc Hoan - Phan Thuc Duyet and Truong Chinh - Tan Ky Tan Quy.

The project was expected to be operational by the end of 2024, but difficulties with land clearance have caused delays.

The four-lane overpass in front of Terminal 3 has been completed. Currently, the remaining section of the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road (from Hoang Hoa Tham Street to Truong Chinh Street) is under construction due to land acquisition issues.

Speaking with a VietNamNet reporter, Mr. Le Huu Tuan, Deputy Head of the Compensation and Land Clearance Board of Tan Binh District (Ho Chi Minh City), said that all land-related obstacles have now been resolved.

"Today, the last house located in the alley off Tran Van Du Street will be completely demolished and handed over to the investor," Mr. Tuan informed.

Meanwhile, Mr. Luong Minh Phuc - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Works Management Board (the investor) confirmed that after receiving the land from Binh Tan district, the contractors will accelerate the construction progress to ensure the entire route is open to traffic before the April 30th holiday.

Upon completion, the route will directly connect to Terminal 3 of Tan Son Nhat Airport (expected to be operational on April 30, 2025), creating a new access point to the airport and reducing pressure on the main entrance on Truong Son Road.

Besides accelerating the construction progress of the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road, the investor is currently requesting the Tan Binh District People's Committee to urgently complete the A41 canal renovation project. This is an important project that will help connect the project's drainage system, ensuring the drainage capacity for the Tan Son Nhat airport area and Terminal 3, preventing flooding.
