According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today (July 14th) will see widespread heavy rain across many regions of the country. Moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely in the Northern Delta and coastal areas, the North and Central Central regions, the Central Highlands, and the Southern region, with some areas experiencing very heavy rainfall.

The common rainfall in the plains and coastal areas of Northern Vietnam, the Central Highlands, and Southern Vietnam is 60-120mm, with some areas receiving over 200mm.

In particular, the northern and central regions of Vietnam received 100-200mm of rainfall, with some areas exceeding 250mm.

Hanoi's weather will be characterized by intermittent sunshine during the day, with showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening. The heat will gradually subside, with temperatures dropping by 1-2 degrees compared to yesterday, generally ranging from 25-34 degrees Celsius. Humidity will be 65-94%.

The forecast for the next two days in Hanoi indicates cloudy skies with intermittent sunshine during the day, and widespread showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, with localized heavy to very heavy rain. Next week, Hanoi will experience an end to the heatwave, with cooler weather and maximum temperatures ranging from 31-32 degrees Celsius.

At sea, the low-pressure area has strengthened into a tropical depression, with wind gusts reaching level 8 and moving towards the mainland of Vietnam. By 4 PM today and in the following hours, the tropical depression will strengthen and increase wind speed but maintain its direction of movement.

Thanh Hoa - Thua Thien Hue
