These days, the capital Hanoi is bright with flags and flowers to welcome Independence Day on September 2. Not only the locals, but many international tourists have chosen the capital to experience the special atmosphere.
Visitors to the capital Hanoi in August cannot help but be surprised by the jubilant atmosphere on every street and alley, filled with red flags with yellow stars and streams of people waiting to watch the parade.
This joyful atmosphere really made a strong impression on the people of the capital and especially international friends, foreigners who have been living and working in Hanoi, especially tourists visiting Vietnam for the first time.
According to Mr. Shakalou Andrey (41 years old, Russian nationality, living and working in the capital for 7 years), the time is not too long but long enough for him to learn about Vietnamese cultural history and witness many changes in the capital's appearance.
“Today, Vietnam is a dynamic country, firmly on the path of integration, development, and affirming its position in the region and the world. As someone born in the former Soviet Union, I feel very close to Vietnam as it remains loyal to the socialist ideal, strives to build an independent and strong economy , and maintains sincere friendship with Russia. The close relationship between the two countries, built from a common historical past, remains strong and warm to this day,” Andrey shared.

Mr. Andrey was impressed with the activities of the 80th National Day celebration, especially the solemn rehearsals, parades, and state-level parades in a proud atmosphere.
Having lived in Hanoi for more than 5 years, Jean Depert (29 years old, French nationality, Director of a software company in Hanoi) said that although he was used to the festival atmosphere in Europe, he was still overwhelmed by the atmosphere of the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2 in Hanoi.
People decorated their houses and streets with bright red flags with yellow stars; happily joined the crowd on the streets to watch rehearsals, rehearsals, and cultural and artistic events in an atmosphere of solidarity and order.
Over the years, Mr. Jean has witnessed the development and change of Hanoi every day, but the capital still retains its thousand-year-old historical and cultural values. To him, Hanoi is always the most beautiful and livable city among the places he has ever been to. Every time the National Day on September 2nd comes, he clearly feels the community connection and national pride deeply ingrained in every citizen of the capital.
Meanwhile, Liily Stome (21 years old, Australian citizen traveling to Hanoi) said that right from the moment she landed at Noi Bai, she was enthusiastically guided and facilitated when completing immigration procedures. In the past few days, she was very impressed with the image of Hanoi people waving flags and singing the national anthem together every time the parades and marches passed by during the training session. She and her friends clearly felt the patriotism and national pride in every gesture and action of all Hanoians, a peaceful , safe and hospitable destination.

According to Ms. Anita (27 years old, from Italy), before, she only knew about Vietnam through the internet and newspapers. This urged her to come and explore Vietnam. As soon as she set foot in Hanoi, she was surprised by the joyful atmosphere welcoming National Day September 2nd of the capital's people.
Anita said: “I am so lucky to be in Hanoi on the occasion of your 80th National Day celebration. The streets are filled with flags and flowers and the people are so friendly that I feel right at home. Your city is so beautiful, the people are friendly and hospitable. On this occasion, I have learned a lot about your glorious historical traditions, patriotism and national pride.”
The first time coming to Hanoi coincided with the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day, Ms. Anita and her friends easily found historical sites, cultural and culinary destinations as well as important information from the schedule of major events such as: parades, marches, art programs to instructions on traffic organization, restaurants, hotels... through the application on the digital platform "A80-Proud of Vietnam". Ms. Anita shared that the civilized, modern and hospitable capital Hanoi will always be a destination that she wants to return to in the future.
During this time, in addition to participating in cultural and artistic programs, visiting museums and historical sites in Hanoi, foreign tourists also spend a lot of time walking and sightseeing on the streets to enjoy the bustling atmosphere before National Day September 2 and shopping for gifts and souvenirs for friends and relatives.
This not only demonstrates the appeal of activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 in the eyes of international friends, but also affirms Vietnam's increasingly strong position in deep integration.
The civilized and modern capital Hanoi is worthy of being the “heart” of the whole country, the first Asian city to be awarded the title “City for Peace” by UNESCO./.
