On the afternoon of June 29th, Hanoi announced the results of the 10th grade entrance exam. The top scorer was Nguyen Hoang Minh Quan, a student from class 9A of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School.
The exam results were announced four days earlier than the previously expected date of July 2nd.
The deadline for reviewing admission scores has therefore been moved up.
Specifically, at 8:00 AM on July 1st, the Department will meet with school principals to approve the admission scores for specialized classes, dual-degree classes, and bilingual classes.
At 1 PM on July 1st, the Department approved the cutoff scores for admission to non-specialized 10th grade classes.
According to sources from Dan Tri newspaper, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training is expected to announce the entrance exam scores for 10th grade in high schools for the 2024 academic year today (July 1st).

Previously, according to the plan, the cut-off scores were to be announced between July 1st and July 4th.
The entrance exam for public high schools in Hanoi will take place on June 8-9 for general candidates, June 10 for candidates applying to specialized schools, and June 11-12 for candidates applying to dual-degree programs.
According to many teachers, this year's exam showed a high degree of differentiation. The predicted cut-off scores are expected to be lower than in 2023.
For the 2024-2025 school year, 119 public high schools in Hanoi have been allocated 81,200 enrollment slots. With nearly 106,000 candidates taking the entrance exam, approximately 25,000 will not be admitted.

For financially autonomous public schools, private schools, vocational education and continuing education centers, and vocational training institutions, students confirm their enrollment in person.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training will hold a meeting on July 17th to review and approve any additional admission scores for 10th grade.
