Plastic bottles containing soft drinks, mineral water, damaged plastic water pipes, and broken car tires lying around on the street... are being used by teachers in the school to "decorate" the green lifestyle in the school environment.
Potted pothos plants are hung throughout the school hallway.
Teachers came up with the idea of using discarded plastic bottles to make vases and flower pots to hang in the hallways of classrooms, offices, and in the school garden.
When people come to school to contact work or teachers go to class and see the rows of pothos pots with drooping leaves, the flower bushes growing green in water pipes, in the school yard... they also feel the environment here is so cool.
The school focuses on innovating teaching methods, planning and drafting ways to design environmentally friendly teaching aids such as: using large leaves to make hats, crowns, coconut leaves to make grasshoppers, wristwatches, pinwheels, cutting bamboo pieces to make percussion instruments when children practice singing, cutting cardboard into flower shapes or folding them into trash cans..., which are both economical, close to students, and in line with the industry's policy.
During class, students are very interested in observing visual aids, many students confidently and boldly answer the teacher's questions. These teaching aids are easy to burn and do not affect the environment.
Flowers and leaves are diverse, growing green in vases, water pipes...
In the school garden, there are many types of flowers that bloom beautifully all year round. Teachers often take students to the garden for outdoor activities. And the principal wanted to create many friendly green areas in the school grounds, so she had the idea of making vases and flower pots from waste materials. She discussed with teachers and parents in the school, and everyone responded. So teachers collected and asked for plastic bottles, others asked for and bought flower and plant seeds, the security guard welded plastic pipes to put soil and fertilizer in vases and pots...
Flowers bloom from "flower beds" made of broken car tires
The children were very interested in observing the flower trees, many of them confidently answered the teacher's questions.
Since then, An Phu Kindergarten has really changed a lot, the most obvious of which is that the school space has a lot of green trees, colorful flowers, and four beautiful seasons...
