These days, both banks of the Nhu Y River ( Hue City) are bustling with the sounds of machinery constructing the embankment and pedestrian walkways on the construction site.
Large machinery is being used to drive piles for the construction of a pedestrian walkway along the Nhu Y River.
According to observations by Thanh Niên reporters on September 9th, in the area from Đập Đá to Vân Dương bridge, workers and large machinery are driving hundreds of concrete sheet piles along the riverbank. The construction of the pedestrian walkway has aroused curiosity and excitement among many local residents.
According to a representative from the Hue City Water Environment Improvement Project Management Board (the project's investor), the project involves building a 6-meter-wide, over 1.6-kilometer-long embankment and pedestrian walkway along the Nhu Y River, stretching from Dap Da to Van Duong Bridge, passing through Phu Hoi and Xuan Phu wards, with a total cost of over 260 billion VND.
The construction unit has driven hundreds of concrete sheet piles, approximately 12-22 meters long, along the banks of the Nhu Y River.
The pedestrian walkway project starts at Dap Da and ends at Van Duong Bridge (photo taken at Dap Da).
According to the design, upon completion, the pedestrian walkway will be paved with granite, and the railings will be made of stainless steel with a powder-coated finish. The walkway will also include a parking area of over 1,300m²; a 36m long arched bridge and 11 waterfronts.
The construction of this project affected 17 households, and the investor has compensated them nearly 18 billion VND. After the pedestrian walkway is put into operation, the areas bordering the residential houses will be landscaped with trees and greenery.
According to the investor, construction units are currently accelerating progress to ensure completion in time to serve the people by June 2024. This multi-billion VND project, in addition to creating a new look for Hue City, also aims to reduce the direct discharge of domestic wastewater into the river.
The project has reclaimed over 15,000 square meters of land, affecting 17 households who had to pay nearly 18 billion VND in compensation.
The walking path is over 1.6 km long along the banks of the Nhu Y River.
Concrete piles have been installed in some areas along Nguyen Cong Tru Street.
The embankment and pedestrian walkway along the Nhu Y River were constructed by a joint venture between Thua Thien-Hue Irrigation Construction Joint Stock Company and Hanoi Construction Joint Stock Company 568.
The Nhu Y River is located in the heart of Hue City, connecting to the Perfume River at Dap Da. Once the pedestrian walkway is completed, it promises to bring a new look to the ancient capital of Hue.
