Accordingly, at 6:10 a.m. the same day, three large rocks from the mountain top suddenly fell down at km 458+200, breaking and displacing a section of rail, blocking the North-South railway line. The incident caused the entire North-South railway line through the above section to be blocked.

Workers rushed to fix the problem

Immediately, Mr. Tran Ngoc Son, Director of Quang Binh Railway Joint Stock Company, along with dozens of officers and workers, were present at the scene using machinery and materials to replace broken rails, correct misaligned rails, and remove giant rocks blocking the railway.

By 10:55 a.m. the same day, the entire rock mass had been removed and the damaged rail section had been repaired. The North-South railway line was immediately reopened and trains continued to run normally.

Mr. Son shared: “The terrain of the area is rugged, with mountains on one side and a river on the other. After heavy rains, landslides often occur. We always have supplies and human resources ready to handle the situation promptly, ensuring absolute safety for passengers and trains.”

The incident was handled quickly, not only helping to clear the congestion on the North-South route, but also showing the high sense of responsibility of the Quang Binh Railway Joint Stock Company in keeping the vital traffic route safe.
