Domestic coffee prices are expected to continue rising slightly due to strong demand from major markets such as the US, Europe, and Asia; the global market is also expected to move in a similar direction.
The Brazilian Real has reached its highest level in over four months, reducing the incentive for Brazilian farmers to export. This is also one of the key factors supporting Arabica coffee prices. In addition, drought conditions in key producing regions of both Brazil and Vietnam continue to affect yields, contributing to higher prices.
According to statistics, world coffee prices increased by 38.8% in 2024, and continued to rise sharply in the early months of 2025. The main reason is unfavorable weather conditions affecting major coffee-producing countries.
According to some experts, domestic coffee prices will soon face pressure for adjustment due to the gradual supply of recently harvested coffee entering the market. In addition, global coffee demand is showing signs of decline due to excessively high prices. Therefore, price adjustments are likely to occur in the near future.
However, the adjustment may not be too deep because the supply from people to the market will not be massive. In other words, the financial pressure on coffee growers this year is not too great because last year they benefited from the sharp increase in coffee prices.
According to Reuters, global coffee traders and roasters said they have cut purchases to a minimum as the industry grapples with a sharp price surge. Meanwhile, suppliers have yet to convince retailers to accept the cuts.
