Lecturer at a university received the highest salary increase to nearly 60 million VND/month

The income of lecturers and staff of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade has just been adjusted to increase sharply.

Associate professor as head of unit earns over 65 million VND/month

This morning (November 3), Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, said that the school has just approved a support policy for lecturers and staff according to job position and academic title. Excluding school leaders, the salary of lecturers and staff has increased the most at 12 million VND/month compared to before.

Specifically, heads of units (department heads, department heads) with the title of associate professor or higher will have their salaries increased by 12 million VND/month, which means their income will increase by over 65 million VND/month. Heads of units with lower degrees will have lower increases: those with a doctorate will increase by 10.5 million VND/month and those with a master's degree will increase by 9 million VND/month.

For lecturers who do not hold management positions, the increase also varies depending on their academic titles. Lecturers with the title of associate professor or higher will receive an additional 5 million, raising their monthly fixed income to nearly 60 million VND. Lecturers with a doctoral degree will receive an increase of 3.5 million VND and those with a master's degree will receive an increase of 2 million VND, raising the total income of this group of lecturers to 35-40 million VND/month.

In addition, the school adjusts the income of lecturers and staff during the summer and Tet holidays to be the same as other months of the year, instead of previously calculating summer and Tet income based on actual working days only.

"The above amount is the fixed salary that the school's lecturers receive every month. Just counting the cost of supporting lecturers based on job positions and academic degrees, the school spends nearly 3 billion VND more each month," Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoan said.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade was renamed from Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry.

Tet bonus of 20 million VND/month from principal to janitor

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoan also shared more about the Lunar New Year 2024 bonus policy for lecturers and staff.

Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade pays a Lunar New Year bonus of VND20 million/person. This is stipulated in the school's internal spending regulations for the 13th month income payment. The bonus applies to all officials and employees of the school, members of the school board with a working period of one year or more. Thus, from the chairman of the school board, the board of directors, heads/deputy heads of units to lecturers, staff and janitors of the school all receive the same bonus.

Sharing more about this bonus level, Mr. Hoan said: "Such an even Tet bonus level has been applied by Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade for many years now. According to a school official, the Tet bonus is divided equally and the same for all employees, from the principal to the janitor, regardless of position or job because each person's monthly salary is different."

In addition to the above Tet bonus, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade also sets aside a sum of 3 million VND/person for New Year's lucky money for staff, lecturers, and employees as well as gifts for retired leaders and teachers.

Under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade was renamed Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha in early July this year. Currently, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade has more than 700 staff, lecturers and employees and a bonus fund estimated at over 15 billion VND.
