Education is a crucial factor in the continued development of Vietnam-Russia relations.

NDO - On November 1st, the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation held an online meeting with representatives from Russian universities to discuss measures to strengthen cooperation in the field of education between the two countries.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Doan Khac Hoang, Counselor and Second Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation; representatives from the Embassy's Education Department, the "Tradition and Friendship" Fund for promoting Russia-Vietnam cooperation, and representatives from more than 100 Russian universities.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Doan Khac Hoang emphasized that Vietnam and Russia have a long history of trusting relations. The former Soviet Union supported Vietnam during difficult periods and trained many experts who made important contributions to the development of economic and scientific fields in Vietnam.

Today, Russia continues to support and uphold the fine traditions of the past. This support and cooperation has become the basis and foundation for further deepening the strong relationship between the Vietnamese and Russian peoples.

According to Mr. Doan Khac Hoang, during recent meetings held on the sidelines of the BRICS Expanded Summit in Kazan at the end of October, Vietnamese and Russian leaders paid particular attention to cooperation in the field of education. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed their belief that education is an important factor in the continued development of bilateral relations.

During the meeting, representatives from Russian universities discussed and proposed measures to strengthen educational cooperation with Vietnamese universities, shared experiences of cooperation between universities of the two countries in the past, and suggested a long-term "roadmap" to increase the attraction of Vietnamese students to study in Russia.

This meeting is an opportunity to promote deeper cooperation between higher education institutions in Russia and Vietnam, contributing to the concretization and more effective implementation of cooperation commitments on education and training signed by the leaders of the two countries in the past.
