The General Secretary noted that the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee needs to clearly define that developing border gate economy is not only for the economic development of the province but, more importantly, to contribute to the economic development of the whole country; and at the same time, to strengthen friendly and trustworthy neighborly relations with our neighbor China.
On August 25th, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and his delegation visited and worked with the Standing Committee of the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee and key officials on the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 17th Lang Son Provincial Party Congress (2020-2025 term).
After listening to the speeches, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong commended the efforts, endeavors, and achievements that the Party Committee, government, and people of Lang Son province have attained, especially in recent years.

Looking ahead, the General Secretary noted that the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee needs to set goals and requirements, identify key tasks and breakthroughs; focus on leadership and guidance to create a new and stronger transformation in socio-economic development. The province needs to clearly define that developing border gate economy is not only for the province's economic development but, more importantly, to contribute to the national economic development; while simultaneously strengthening friendly and trustworthy neighborly relations with China.
The General Secretary also pointed out that Lang Son needs to focus on prioritizing human resource development according to the major orientations set forth by the 17th Provincial Party Congress; paying particular attention to improving personnel management . The province should clearly define its role, position, potential, and strengths in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region, the Red River Delta region, and the Hanoi Capital region; prioritize regional linkages to create momentum for development; and build Lang Son into a rapidly and sustainably developing province with synchronous infrastructure, soon becoming a province with modern service, agriculture, and industry development.
With the responsibility of being the "national bulwark" in terms of defense and security, and also the "economic bulwark," firmly protecting the domestic market is also protecting the sovereignty and economic security of the country. The General Secretary requested that Lang Son pay special attention to building and consolidating a strong national defense system linked to the people's security posture; closely combining socio-economic development with strengthening national defense and security, and building a solid defense zone.
The province effectively implements ethnic and religious policies, ensures political security, social order and safety, maintains national border sovereignty, and builds a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, stable, and developing border; it proactively and effectively carries out foreign affairs and international integration, creating a favorable environment for the socio-economic development of the province, the northern midland and mountainous region, and the whole country.
The General Secretary requested that the province fully and further improve the work of Party building and rectification, as well as the political system. In particular, it should promote democracy and the strength of the great national unity, first and foremost internal unity within Party committees and government agencies, and especially unity within the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee, Standing Committee, and Executive Committee. From there, it should spread unity and consensus among the people, building an increasingly solid national unity.
Regarding the proposals and recommendations from Lang Son, the General Secretary requested the Central Party Office to compile them and send them to relevant committees, ministries, and agencies according to their functions, authority, and responsibilities; to promptly study, consider, and work directly with the province to resolve them specifically, with the spirit of creating the best conditions for Lang Son to develop faster and more sustainably.
