Last December, Google also partnered with the Department of Information Security in the Government App Verification initiative. This was a groundbreaking initiative, as Vietnam became the first country to partner with Google to launch the “Official Government Apps” feature on Google Play. Initially launched with more than 80 apps that were granted verification marks, including VNeID and VssID, this initiative helps users easily identify official apps issued by state agencies, enhancing user protection against fraud and ensuring online safety in Vietnam. To date, the number of verified government apps has increased to more than 110.

Through close coordination on platform security, user education, capacity building and rapid response, Google and the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention under the Ministry of Public Security are working hard to not only prevent the wave of online fraud in Vietnam but also contribute to building a strong and trustworthy digital future - where all Vietnamese citizens and businesses can safely exploit their full online potential./.
