Have a plan to respond to accidents, poisoning, and mass emergencies.
According to Director of Hanoi Department of Health Tran Thi Nhi Ha, the department's leaders directly inspected and requested directors of units to fully implement the instructions of the Ministry of Health and the Department of Health on ensuring safety in disease prevention and control, food safety and hygiene, and meeting medical needs for activities during the Lunar New Year 2024.
Hospitals in Hanoi operate hotlines during Tet, supporting patients and being ready to respond to medical emergencies.
For medical examination and treatment, treatment units ensure 4 levels of staff (leadership on duty; hotline information processing, expertise; administration - logistics; security - self-defense), and list of staff on duty posted in departments and rooms. At the same time, there are plans for fire prevention, disaster prevention, mass accidents; cold prevention for patients; and technical support for lower levels when necessary.
Hospitals need to stock up on medicine, blood, infusion fluids, and necessary equipment and facilities for emergency care, examination, and treatment; ensure that all emergency patients are examined and treated promptly, without being refused or delayed.
In case the patient is transferred to another medical facility or department, the medical facility must provide initial emergency treatment and fully explain to the patient and their family before transferring them to another medical facility.
