Since July 2023, authorities have installed additional barriers at the Thanh Xuan underpass entrance to divert traffic from Nguyen Tuan so that it does not cut across the flow of vehicles going down to the underpass.

This is one of the capital's hot traffic intersections, often experiencing congestion, especially during rush hour.

Every day, vehicles still go straight from Nguyen Tuan, cutting across other vehicles and crossing many lanes on Nguyen Trai Street when going down the underpass, posing a potential risk to traffic safety and easily causing accidents.

According to local residents, traffic accidents often occur at this location, and vehicles traveling on Nguyen Trai Street often have to brake suddenly and stop to let other vehicles cross the street.

"Going down Thanh Xuan tunnel is faster and more convenient, so some people just go, especially during rush hours in the morning and afternoon, the road above is often congested and they have to wait for traffic lights. But when the road is empty, collisions are more likely to happen because vehicles are going fast," said Mr. Tung (Thanh Xuan, Hanoi).

Currently there is no sign prohibiting going straight from Nguyen Tuan to the Thanh Xuan underpass exit, only a danger sign at this intersection.

According to the reporter's records, vehicles crossing the road and cutting off other vehicles on Nguyen Trai Street to go down to Thanh Xuan tunnel happens frequently, posing a potential risk of traffic accidents when vehicles are traveling at high speed.

Not only motorbikes, cars and large passenger vans often cut across many lanes to go down the Thanh Xuan tunnel.

Vehicles crossing the road make traffic messy and easily congested.

Even many motorbikes recklessly go the wrong way.
