The two men were constantly fighting.
The incident occurred at the station below Thu Duc Station, Metro Line 1, Binh Tho Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.
The clip shows a man wearing a ride-hailing motorbike driver's uniform repeatedly hitting a man in a security guard uniform with a helmet. The man in the security guard uniform, holding a plastic chair, also retaliates in kind against the man in the ride-hailing motorbike driver's uniform.
The clip posted on social media caused outrage. "Why did the two sides fight and cause such a disruption of public order?" - wrote user Nguyen Phuc.
The police in Binh Tho ward, Thu Duc city, are currently verifying the video clip and determining the time it occurred.
Initially, according to a representative of Ho Chi Minh City Metro Line 1 (the unit managing Metro Line 1), the incident was caused by a male ride-hailing driver smoking near Thu Duc station. Concerned about the risk of fire from the cigarette butt, a Metro Line 1 security guard approached to remind him, but was met with resistance. A verbal argument and physical altercation then ensued between the two parties.
The security guard has now been suspended from his job.
