On the afternoon of December 5, in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province, the Vietnam People's Navy Region 5 Command coordinated with Ream Sea Base, Royal Cambodian Navy to organize the 34th Conference on Experience Sharing on the 75th and 76th Joint Patrols between the two navies. Colonel Trinh Xuan Tung, Commander of the Navy Region 5 Command, and Vice Admiral May Dina, Commander of Ream Sea Base, co-chaired the Conference.

At the conference, the two sides emphasized: The 75th and 76th joint patrols were carried out in June and September 2024 in the historical waters of Vietnam - Cambodia. The navies of the two countries strictly complied with the Regulations on joint patrol coordination and established a communication channel between the Vietnam People's Navy and the Royal Cambodian Navy signed by the Commanders of the two navies on September 14, 2002.
Notably, both sides have effectively coordinated patrol and control activities, maintaining security and order in the historical waters; successfully implemented training in naval formation maneuvering and search and rescue; and skillfully used the Code of Conduct for Unplanned Encounters at Sea (CUES) of the Western Pacific Navies and hand flags, signal flags, and lights in accordance with the International Law of Signals.

During patrols, naval vessels from both countries maintain constant communication with each country's joint patrol office; regularly exchange information on the maritime situation and related issues; and conduct close observation and control to ensure that vessels operate safely and in accordance with regulations in historical waters. This contributes to maintaining security and order, creating favorable conditions for the people of both countries to develop their maritime economies .

In the coming period, both sides will continue to promote awareness and encourage fishermen from both countries to strictly abide by the law and regulations on marine resource exploitation; proactively coordinate with the forces and functional agencies managing the seas of both countries to prevent and combat transnational terrorism, illegal trafficking of goods, weapons, explosives, drugs, human trafficking, tax evasion, and illegal entry and exit.

The two sides agreed to continue to effectively maintain communication channels, especially hotlines, and promptly coordinate to harmoniously and satisfactorily handle incidents at sea in the spirit of cooperation, respect for international law, independence and sovereignty, contributing to maintaining a peaceful and stable environment, further deepening the solidarity, friendship, understanding and mutual trust between the two navies.
