Revealing the 'reincarnated' look of the 'Harry Potter' TV series.

The HBO-funded 'Harry Potter' television series has officially begun production. Along with that, the lead actor has been revealed, succeeding Daniel Radcliffe in the role he so successfully played.

This could be considered a highly anticipated return, exactly 14 years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 concluded the journey of this famous character on the big screen.

On this occasion, the producers also revealed the first image of Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, sporting a radiant smile and his signature costume and round glasses.

Many people have commented that the child actor's appearance is like something straight out of J.K. Rowling's books, and also bears a resemblance to his "predecessor," Daniel Radcliffe. This ensures fidelity to the original work while also providing a sense of familiarity for audiences who have previously been captivated by film adaptations.

McLaughlin will star alongside Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. This young trio was chosen from over 30,000 actors who auditioned last fall.

In addition to the three "mainstays," new cast members were also announced earlier this week, including Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch, and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander.

Paapa Essiedu gained fame with the series Black Mirror will portray the sarcastic Potions professor Severus Snape, while Nick Frost, highly acclaimed for Shaun of the Dead, will play Rubeus Hagrid, the slow-witted Hogwarts Forest keeper.

Under the direction of producer Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod of the hit Netflix TV series Succession , the new HBO version will follow young Potter as he discovers he is a wizard, leaves his Muggle family, and embarks on a journey to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Along the way, he befriends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and battles the dark and evil Lord Voldemort.

According to reports, each of J.K. Rowling's seven Harry Potter books will make up a complete film season. Variety reports that filming for the first part is expected to continue until spring 2026, after which the second part will begin production following a short break.
