Consultation to elect 397 members of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th term

During the afternoon session on October 17th, the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front conducted consultations to elect the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 10th term, 2024-2029.

On behalf of the Presidium, Vice Chairperson of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (9th term) Truong Thi Ngoc Anh presented the Proposal on the number and structure of participants in the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th term.

Based on the submitted report, the Congress approved the number of members of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th term, 2024-2029, to be 405 members, including 72 members in the Presidium, 6 members in the Standing Committee, and 8 non-specialized Vice-Chairmen. At the Congress, delegates voted to elect 397 members to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th term, 2024-2029, with 8 additional members to be appointed during the term.

Specifically, the list includes 51 heads of member organizations (an increase of 4 compared to the 9th term); 63 Chairpersons of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of provinces and centrally-administered cities (the same as the 9th term); 273 outstanding individuals (an increase of 15 compared to the 9th term); 53 representatives of ethnic minorities (the same as the 9th term), representing all 53 ethnic minorities; 53 representatives of religious dignitaries (the same as the 9th term), representing all 16 religions and religious organizations with large numbers of followers recognized by the State; 50 representatives of economic sectors (an increase of 7 compared to the 9th term); and 18 overseas Vietnamese (an increase of 1 compared to the 9th term), representing 5 continents.

The staff of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front consists of 18 people (an increase of 1 person compared to the 9th term), specifically: the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has 6 people (the same as the 9th term); the heads of departments and units under the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front have 12 people (an increase of 1 person compared to the 9th term), with a structure comprising 10 specialized departments and units and 2 affiliated units (the Center for Cadre Training and Scientific Research of the Fatherland Front; the Fatherland Front Magazine).

Composition: Non-Party members: 203 (50.1%); female: 89 (21.9%); ethnic minorities: 103 (25.4%); religious: 69 (17%); university degree or higher: 327 (80.7%).

Regarding age: 43 people (10.8%) are 40 years old or younger; 190 people (47.9%) are 41-60 years old; and 164 people (41.3%) are 61 years old or older. The youngest person was born in 2004 (currently 20 years old, Ms. Thi Ha, a representative of the S'Tieng ethnic group, Phu Nghia commune, Bu Gia Map district, Binh Phuoc province); the oldest person was born in 1934 (90 years old, Grand Master Tran Duc Tang, Head of the Standing Committee of the Cao Dai Minh Chon Dao Church).

Immediately after the consultation process to elect the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th term, 2024-2029, the 10th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held its first meeting.

On Friday, October 18th, the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, for the 2024-2029 term, will hold its closing session. At this session, the Presidium of the Congress will report on the results of the first meeting of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th term, and introduce the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 10th term, 2024-2029.
