After three years leading HAGL FC, coach Kiatisuk has officially said goodbye to the team. At HAGL's training ground on the afternoon of January 10th, the Thai coach expressed to the team members: "This is my last training session with you all. It has been an honor for me to work with all of you."
Coach Kiatisuk will leave HAGL for Hanoi, taking on a new role and beginning a new "adventure" as head coach of CAHN Club.
On behalf of LPBank HAGL Club, CEO Nguyen Tan Anh shared on his personal page: "Wishing Zico (the nickname of coach Kiatisuk) strength and success in the upcoming journey with CAHN team."
For Kiatisuk, HAGL holds many memories for the coach. Kiatisuk worked with the team owned by Mr. Duc in three periods. The first period was from 2002-2006, when "Thai Zico" was still a player.
At that time, coach Kiatisuk played a major role in helping HAGL rise from the First Division to the V-League, and then win the V-League championship in 2003 and 2004. In 2006, Kiatisuk became HAGL's player-coach.
In the second phase, in 2010, Kiatisuk became the coach of HAGL Club, but only for a short time.
The third phase, from the beginning of 2021 to the present, saw Kiatisuk return to HAGL as head coach. He led the team to the top of the V-League 2021, but HAGL was not officially recognized as champions because the tournament was suspended midway due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Beyond his professional value, Coach Kiatisuk has also greatly benefited HAGL commercially. At least two major sponsors from Thailand have signed sponsorship contracts with HAGL because the team has Kiatisuk – a leading idol of Thai football.
Upon joining his new club, CAHN FC, expectations for coach Kiatisuk remain very high. The reigning V-League champions hope that the Thai coach will help the club revitalize its performance, improve stability compared to the era under coach Gong Oh Kyun, and return to the title race.
