Support residential land and production land for ethnic minorities in a sustainable direction

In recent times, localities in the province have promoted the effective implementation of Project 1 to support residential land, housing, production land, and domestic water for ethnic minorities and mountainous areas, contributing to improving people's lives and promoting socio -economic development. A typical example is in Nhu Thanh district. With the characteristics of a mountainous district with a large number of ethnic minorities living, in recent years, the Party Committee and people of all ethnic groups in the district have focused on effectively implementing ethnic policies. Therefore, people's lives have been improving day by day.

Ms. Le Ngoc Hoa, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhu Thanh district, said that in recent times, in order to implement the Program to support housing, residential land, and production land for poor ethnic minorities, Nhu Thanh district has promoted the dissemination of the purpose, meaning, and objectives of the National Target Program 1719. From there, raising awareness of all classes of people, especially ethnic minorities, in implementing the program. Capital sources and support funds are all used effectively, publicly, and transparently with investment sources from the State budget in a focused, key manner, prioritizing especially difficult areas. The district has also effectively integrated 3 National Target Programs in the implementation organization to further enhance the effectiveness of the programs, avoiding overlap and waste. In addition, Nhu Thanh district also regularly reviews the actual needs of eligible subjects in localities to supplement and implement policies to support housing, residential land, and production land in a timely and effective manner. The district also hopes that the State will increase the level of housing land support so that poor households can stabilize their housing in the form of intercropping in localities. At the same time, it is recommended that the province have mechanisms and solutions to convert production land for localities with difficulties in land funds to effectively arrange the implementation of land allocation for production according to the State's support programs and policies, bringing direct rights and benefits to ethnic minorities and mountainous areas.

In Lang Chanh district, the National Target Program 1719 has helped the locality have more resources to promote socio-economic development. The projects and sub-projects of the National Target Program 1719 implemented in Lang Chanh are very practical and suitable to the actual conditions of each commune and village. Along with supporting infrastructure construction, Sub-project 2 (Project 1) on housing support for ethnic minorities has become a bright spot in Lang Chanh district. With an allocated capital of 1 billion VND, the project has supported the construction and repair of houses for 26 poor households. Of which, 24 poor households have completely rebuilt their houses; 2 households have been supported to repair their houses to improve their living conditions.

Mr. Do Van Cuong, Vice Chairman of Lang Chanh District People's Committee, said that the district has set a target that by the end of 2025, 75% or more of village and hamlet roads will be asphalted or concreted; the poverty rate will decrease by an average of 6% or more per year. Lang Chanh District Party Committee and government are determined to overcome all difficulties. The district is focusing on directing and operating, maximizing existing resources, with the focus on resources from national target programs. "With the determination, efforts and solidarity of the entire political system and people, Lang Chanh district will gradually overcome difficulties, effectively implementing national target programs, especially Project 1 on supporting residential land and production land for ethnic minorities in National Target Program 1719. Thereby, contributing to improving people's lives and comprehensively developing the local ethnic minority area", Mr. Cuong emphasized.
