The activities of the Fatherland Front are strongly oriented towards the grassroots.

Over two days, December 10-11, the First Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Yen province, for the term 2025-2030, was held and concluded successfully with the motto: "Unity, Democracy, Innovation, Development".

In his opening remarks, Mr. Tran Quoc Toan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Yen province, stated that the Congress is an event of special political and social significance, marking the first time the two-tiered local government model has been implemented and the political and social organizations and mass associations assigned by the Party and State to be under the direct control of the Fatherland Front have been merged. The Congress's nhiệm vụ is to summarize and evaluate the results of implementing the Resolution of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Congress of Hung Yen province for the 2024-2029 term up to the present time, and to develop directions and tasks for the 2025-2030 term.

The Congress reviewed the activities of the Committee and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province for the 2024-2029 term; identified the causes of limitations, and drew lessons learned for the leadership and direction of the activities of the new Committee and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province…

“The Congress promotes democracy and wisely selects people with virtue, talent, and courage, who dare to think, dare to speak, dare to act, dare to take responsibility, dare to innovate, dare to confront difficulties and challenges, and dare to act for the common good, truly serving as a center of unity, to be elected through consultation to participate in the Committee and Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, term 2025-2030,” Mr. Tran Quoc Toan emphasized.

The report presented at the Congress showed that, in the past period, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Yen province has implemented many important contents and tasks that have directly impacted the stability and socio-economic development of the locality.

Notably, many models associated with emulation movements have been widely implemented at the grassroots level by the Vietnam Fatherland Front, promoting the self-governance role of the people. The province currently has 2,117 models of self-prevention, self-management, and self-protection; 2,914 models of crime- and social vice-free clans; 340 self-governing groups ensuring traffic safety and order; over 250 models of "Clubs for not having a third child or more"; and 751 self-governing residential areas for environmental protection.

Following the merger, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee allocated funds from the province's "For the Poor" Fund to donate rice to 12,139 poor households in 101 out of 104 communes and wards in the province. In response to the damage caused by storms, heavy rains, flash floods, and landslides in localities inside and outside the province, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee issued a call for donations to support affected people, receiving over 185 billion VND and distributing 29.6 billion VND to people affected by storms and floods in 17 provinces.

For the 2025-2030 term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Yen province sets the following goals: Consolidate and promote the strength of the great national unity, strengthen social consensus, build and promote socialist democracy; continue to improve the organizational structure, and innovate the content and methods of operation of the Fatherland Front at all levels.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front (MTTQ) is stepping up propaganda, mobilization, and gathering of the people to participate in patriotic emulation movements, arousing patriotism, self-reliance, self-improvement, creativity, and aspirations for development in the new era; promoting its role in representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people; effectively carrying out social supervision and criticism; and actively participating in building a clean and strong Party, government, and political system. Along with this, it is encouraging all strata of the people to enthusiastically develop the economy, maintain security and order, prevent and combat corruption, waste, and negative phenomena, build cultural life at the grassroots level, ensure social security, and achieve sustainable development, contributing to the successful implementation of the targets of the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.

The Congress elected 11 members to the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Yen province, term 2025-2030. Mr. Tran Quoc Toan, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, was elected Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Yen province.

At the Congress, Mr. Hoang Cong Thuy, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, proposed that it is necessary to build a truly strong, professional, and people-friendly Vietnam Fatherland Front organization at all levels; to thoroughly overcome the bureaucratization in Front activities; and to avoid ostentatious displays and the pursuit of achievements for their own sake. Along with that, focus should be placed on implementing activities strongly oriented towards the grassroots level in the spirit of "no one is left behind." Movements must aim for concrete results.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Tran Quoc Toan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Yen province, called on all Front officials, member organizations, and people of all walks of life in the province to uphold the tradition of solidarity and patriotism, the spirit of innovation and creativity, and to act decisively and effectively, transforming resolutions into action. He urged them to intensify emulation to achieve the highest practical achievements to celebrate the 14th National Party Congress and the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

The Fatherland Front Committees at all levels, together with all levels, sectors, and strata of the people, will continue to promote national unity, participate in building a clean and strong Party and government, accelerate socio-economic development, consolidate national defense and security, and contribute to the successful implementation of the goals of the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
