Retail sales growth, peak consumer spending at the end of the year.

The Prime Minister recently approved the Strategy for the Development of Vietnam's Retail Market until 2030, with a vision to 2050. The goal is to develop a civilized, modern, and sustainable retail market, striving for an average annual growth rate of 11-11.5% in total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue from now until 2030. This goal requires a comprehensive set of solutions from regulatory agencies, manufacturers, and retail distribution chains, as this target has not exceeded 10% growth since 2023.

According to data from the General Statistics Office ( Ministry of Finance ), in the first nine months of this year, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue increased by 9.5% compared to the same period last year. To achieve the targets set for this year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and businesses and associations have implemented many trade promotion programs, and the Autumn Fair 2025 is considered a key highlight in the final quarter of this year.

With its unprecedented scale and diverse product range, from agricultural products and food to industrial goods and artificial intelligence Made in Vietnam, participating businesses offered numerous incentives, attracting attention and leaving a strong impression on consumers.

9 AM - The Vietnam National Exhibition Center was bustling with groups of visitors coming to explore and shop. The local food stalls attracted the largest number of people seeking unique and affordable specialties.

A representative from one business said that, participating in this year's autumn fair, they have prepared hundreds of unique products from the region to both increase awareness of the Tay ethnic community eco-tourism area and connect with consumers of local specialties.

Mr. Cu Xuan Long - Customer Relations Department, Thai Hai Village, Thai Nguyen Province, said: "Previously, the products were only available within the village; visitors could experience and purchase them when they came to the village. But now, with this year's fair, the products are closer to customers…".

Not only food and agricultural product stalls attract customers, but also industrial and high-tech booths draw considerable consumer interest.

"I was very surprised to see that products made in Vietnam are just as modern and up-to-date in design as imported products," shared Mr. Duong Xuan Khanh from Tu Liem ward, Hanoi.

The first Autumn Fair in 2025 has the theme "Connecting people with production and business".

Unlike previous trade fairs where businesses focused solely on wholesale trade, this time they had prepared a large quantity of goods and promotional programs to encourage Vietnamese people to prioritize using Vietnamese industrial products.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cong, Deputy Director of Selta Co., Ltd., said: "Thousands of visitors come every day because it's the peak season for home renovations at the end of the year. We have specific promotional programs such as giving away accessory products when customers buy faucets, or offering direct discounts on prices..."

Not only can consumers purchase goods at discounted prices and experience new products, but they can also directly express their opinions and evaluate service quality through digital platforms – a noteworthy new feature never before seen.

"We are promoting this on social media, on digital platforms, and especially by creating forums for consumers to provide feedback and address issues promptly," said Mr. Ho An Phong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Adults enjoyed sightseeing and shopping for local products, while children were delighted to admire traditional cultural performances and eagerly experienced modern robotic technology… All of this created unforgettable impressions in the hearts of Vietnamese consumers.

Supporting Vietnamese businesses to participate in global supply chains.

More than just a consumer stimulus event, the Autumn Fair 2025 also serves as a trading hub for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam. According to preliminary statistics from the Organizing Committee, over 40 memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements were signed in the first three days, with dozens of businesses exceeding sales expectations. Notably, many small businesses had the opportunity to be surveyed and participate in supplying goods to supermarket chains both domestically and internationally.

Each month, Vi Nam Food Co., Ltd. produces hundreds of thousands of convenient meal products. Due to limitations in scale, they are currently only conducting trial sales on e-commerce platforms. Fortunately, at the trade fair, they were contacted by one or two distribution chains to conduct quality checks.

Mr. Phung Ba Thanh, Business Director of Vi Nam Food Co., Ltd., said: "From quality declarations to production processes, we also hope to connect and participate in the supply chain, especially with Tet approaching. From traceability, product inputs, vegetables, fish, raw materials… we pay close attention to transparency in the production process."

According to many businesses, the current barrier to joining distribution systems is their small production scale, which often leads them to collaborate with third parties. However, this will ultimately lead to the development of their own brand.

The fair attracted a large number of people and businesses.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade stated that it has categorized product sectors into specific groups and provided support for trade, directly introducing businesses to ensure optimal efficiency.

Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Trade Promotion Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade, stated: "The industry groups are divided into product categories to better support trade activities between international buyers and Vietnamese manufacturers. Domestically, we will have activities connecting supply and demand, and connecting manufacturers with distributors such as major distributors in Vietnam: Central Retail, Emart Market…"

The Ministry of Industry and Trade expects the 2025 Autumn Fair to provide opportunities for connecting production with consumption; increase domestic purchasing power while stimulating demand for Vietnamese products in the international market; contribute to enhancing the value and competitiveness of goods, creating a foundation for retail businesses to participate more deeply in the global retail market.

Beyond trade activities, the Autumn Fair 2025 also features numerous conferences to disseminate rules of origin and update businesses on new consumer trends. On the afternoon of October 27th, a workshop on rules of origin was held to help domestic and export businesses understand the new regulations related to the origin of goods. This is a way to protect the domestic market from foreign goods disguised as Vietnamese products, while also ensuring consumers have access to truthful information about the products they choose.

The first Autumn Fair in 2025 will be held from the evening of October 25th to November 4th, 2025 at the Vietnam National Exhibition Center - a modern and unique building, a new symbol of the capital city - a place that brings together, illuminates, and spreads the spirit of innovation, creativity, cooperation, and development.

This event follows the resounding success of the "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" exhibition, which fostered national pride, spread patriotism, self-reliance, and the strong aspiration for progress of the Vietnamese people.

With the theme and message "Connecting people with production and business," the first Autumn Fair in 2025 was organized on the largest scale ever. The total exhibition area exceeded 130,000 m², comprising 5 themed zones, approximately 3,000 booths; a food and culture zone featuring cuisine from 34 localities, music festivals, cultural performances, and artistic experiences…

Furthermore, the fair brought together participants from 34 provinces and cities; central ministries and agencies; over 2,500 Vietnamese and international organizations and businesses; and attracted a large number of international partners and friends to showcase products, conduct trade, network, and seek opportunities for cooperation and investment.

The first Autumn Fair in 2025 will be chaired by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, under the direction of the Prime Minister, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Hanoi People's Committee, and other ministries, sectors, and localities. This is a key activity for 2025, contributing to the concretization of the policy of promoting domestic trade, boosting production, business, import and export, and promoting the national image and brands of Vietnamese goods, in accordance with the Prime Minister's directive in Official Dispatch No. 172/CĐ-TTg dated October 3, 2025.
