According to the report, in the first 6 months of 2024, the Hanoi Bar Association has had many practical and effective activities, affirming its position and role. The association and its affiliated units have synchronously and comprehensively implemented assigned tasks.
Notably, the work of drafting guiding documents and preparing for the Congress of Lawyers Associations at all levels for the 2024-2029 term and the 8th Congress of Delegates of the Hanoi Lawyers Association is well implemented.
Up to now, the Association's branches have basically successfully organized the congress, elected the Executive Committee and the President/Chairman of the new term, and well prepared personnel to attend the Congress of Delegates of the Hanoi Lawyers Association.
At the same time, the dissemination andeducation of law continued to be promoted with many rich and effective forms. The City Association and its units organized more than 200 conferences to disseminate new legal documents to more than 40,000 participants. In particular, the City Association printed and distributed 56,000 leaflets and 800 copies of the Capital Lawyers newsletter to members and people.
Regarding legal consultancy and legal aid, the Hanoi Bar Association and its units have provided free consultation for 2,575 cases, including many cases involving policy families, the poor and children. In addition, the Association at all levels and its members have actively participated in mediation work at the grassroots level, successfully mediating 336 cases.
In the work of participating in law-making and social criticism, the City Association has organized comments on 17 draft Laws and 6 draft Resolutions, Projects, and instructions of the city's functional agencies.
Regarding organizational work, in the first 6 months of 2024, the Association developed 31 branches under districts, towns and cities and admitted 278 new members.
In addition, emulation and reward work is also focused on. Many Association units have implemented 6 typical models and actively participated in writing contests on typical advanced examples, "Good people, good deeds", "Good examples of lawyers".
Entering the last 6 months of 2024, the Hanoi Bar Association has identified the key task as successfully organizing the 8th Congress of the Hanoi Bar Association for the 2024-2029 term. This is an important event, opening a new term of work, meeting the expectations and requirements of the Party and the People for the Hanoi Bar Association in the new development period.
In addition, activities on propaganda, dissemination of law, legal aid; coordination with departments and organizations to participate in building and promulgating policies and laws, supervising law enforcement; mediation work at the grassroots level; developing the Association and its members; implementing emulation movements and other activities continue to be focused on, directed and implemented resolutely and effectively by the City Association and its affiliated units.
With the attention and direction of the Hanoi Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee, promoting the potential of the team of lawyers, the solidarity and consensus of the people of the capital, the Hanoi Lawyers Association will successfully organize the 8th Congress, opening a new term of prosperity, continuing to affirm its role as a mass organization of the people, actively contributing to the construction of a modern, civilized and civilized capital.
