Hanoi Bar Association towards the 8th Congress, term 2024-2029

According to the report, in the first six months of 2024, the Hanoi Lawyers Association carried out many practical and effective activities, affirming its position and role. The Association and its affiliated units implemented all assigned tasks comprehensively and synchronously.

Notably, this includes the successful implementation of the drafting of guiding documents and preparations for the Congresses of the Lawyers' Association at all levels for the 2024-2029 term and the 8th Congress of the Hanoi Lawyers' Association.

To date, the local branches of the Association have basically successfully organized their congresses, elected the Executive Committee and the President/Chairman for the new term, and made good preparations for personnel to attend the Congress of Delegates of the Hanoi Lawyers Association.

Simultaneously, the dissemination and education of legal knowledge continued to be promoted through various rich and effective forms. The City Association and its affiliated units organized more than 200 conferences to disseminate new legal documents to over 40,000 participants. In particular, the City Association printed and distributed 56,000 leaflets and 800 copies of the Capital City Lawyers' Newsletter to its members and the public.

Regarding legal consultation and assistance, the Hanoi Lawyers Association and its affiliated units provided free consultations in 2,575 cases, including many cases involving families receiving preferential treatment, the poor, and children. In addition, the Association at all levels and its members actively participated in grassroots mediation, successfully resolving 336 cases.

In its role in participating in lawmaking and social critique, the City Association has provided feedback on 17 draft laws and 6 draft resolutions, projects, and guidelines from city-level functional agencies.

Regarding organizational work, in the first six months of 2024, the Association developed 31 branches directly under the district, county, and town associations and admitted 278 new members.

In addition, emulation and reward activities have also been emphasized. Many Association units have implemented 6 exemplary models and actively participated in writing competitions about advanced role models, "Good people, good deeds," and "Shining examples of lawyers."

Entering the final six months of 2024, the Hanoi Lawyers Association has identified its central task as successfully organizing the 8th Congress of the Hanoi Lawyers Association, for the 2024-2029 term. This is a crucial event, marking the beginning of a new term of work, meeting the expectations and requirements of the Party and the people for the Hanoi Lawyers Association in this new stage of development.

In addition, activities related to legal dissemination and education, legal assistance; coordination with departments and organizations in the development and promulgation of policies and laws, and monitoring their implementation; grassroots mediation; development of the Association's organization and membership; implementation of emulation movements and other activities continue to be given attention, directed, and implemented decisively and effectively by the City Association and its affiliated units.

With the guidance and support of the Hanoi City Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee, and leveraging the potential of the legal profession and the unity and solidarity of all strata of the capital's people, the Hanoi Lawyers Association will successfully organize its 8th Congress, ushering in a new and prosperous term, continuing to affirm its role as a people's organization, and making positive contributions to the construction of a cultured, civilized, and modern capital city.
