On November 7th, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province received and worked with a delegation of more than 40 German businesses led by Mr. Alexander Ziehe, President of the German Business Association in Vietnam, who came to Dong Nai to explore investment opportunities.
During the meeting, Mr. Vo Van Phi, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, informed the German businesses that there are currently 12 projects by German companies investing in Dong Nai with a total investment capital of over 273 million USD.
German businesses investing and operating in Dong Nai have achieved effective results and complied well with legal regulations on investment, environment, construction, labor, etc., making important contributions to the socio-economic development of the locality.

According to the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, the first phase of Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai will be completed and put into operation by 2026. This project will create a driving force for development not only for Dong Nai but also for the entire Southern key economic region.
At that time, Dong Nai province will have a full range of transportation methods including road, air, rail, and inland waterway, to increase investment attraction to the locality.
With its improving infrastructure, Alexander Ziehe, President of the German Business Association in Vietnam, believes that Dong Nai is an attractive destination for German investors thanks to its easy connectivity to seaports and airports, along with its developing infrastructure.
This is demonstrated by the fact that the province has attracted several outstanding projects from German businesses over the past year, such as the project of Ziehl-Abegg Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Nhon Trach district; and the Pearl Vietnam Factory project in Long Thanh district.
In addition, several German companies are investing in Dong Nai, such as Bosch, Schaeffler, Bayer, Neumann Gruppe, Friwo, Framas, etc., and expanding their investments.
"I am very impressed with the open and professional environment that Dong Nai is building for the foreign business community, including German businesses," Alexander Ziehe commented.
However, during the meeting, several German businesses investing in Dong Nai reported difficulties and obstacles related to administrative procedures concerning land; congestion in port areas and industrial zones, causing delays in goods transportation; and difficulties in obtaining visas and permits for experts and senior managers.
Peter Kompalla, Head of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Vietnam, highlighted several difficulties that German businesses are facing when investing in Dong Nai. |
German businesses have requested that the People's Committee of Dong Nai province simplify administrative procedures and shorten the process for granting environmental approvals and labor permits. They also requested that Dong Nai consider reducing taxes for businesses expanding or reinvesting.
Responding to feedback from German businesses, Mr. Vo Van Phi, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, directed relevant departments, agencies, the Tax Department, the Customs Department, etc., to record the difficulties, obstacles, proposals, and recommendations of businesses for consideration, resolution, and improvement in order to enhance the province's investment environment.
Leaders of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the Dong Nai Provincial Government always creates favorable conditions for businesses to invest, produce, and conduct business in the province.
