On the afternoon of October 30, according to statistics from educational institutions across Hue City, 168/569 schools are currently qualified to resume in-person teaching from October 31.
Hue City Department of Education and Training requested schools that have completed reporting to the Department on the status of facilities to urgently notify students and parents for implementation, in order to ensure the proposed school year schedule.
Meanwhile, the remaining schools will continue to carry out general cleaning work and overcome the consequences of floods to organize the return of students to normal school in the following days, according to each unit's own plan.
For schools in areas that are still flooded for a long time, such as Hoa Chau ward, Phong Dinh ward, Quang Dien commune..., the Department of Education and Training has requested to prepare the necessary conditions to implement online teaching if the infrastructure of information technology, electricity and internet is ensured. The goal is to not interrupt the learning of students in the most affected areas.
At the same time, the Department of Education and Training also requires schools to have plans to consolidate lessons for students after they return to in-person learning, ensuring that knowledge acquisition is not affected by long school breaks or unsynchronized online learning.
The Department of Education and Training also emphasized that in cases where the cleaning and remediation of flood consequences exceeds the unit's capacity, it is necessary to promptly report to the Department. The purpose is for the Department of Education and Training to promptly connect and mobilize support personnel from agencies and organizations of the city. This mobilization of support forces is to help schools quickly stabilize teaching and learning, bringing students back to class in the safest and fastest way.
