The authorities require the owner of this reservoir to organize announcements, siren warnings and loudspeakers for the downstream area; at the same time closely monitor the flow to the lake, the water level on the Bo River at Phu Oc station and regularly update the report information for direction. The communes and wards downstream of Huong Dien hydropower reservoir strictly prohibit boating, firewood collection, and fishing on the river, except in special cases permitted by the competent authority, and at the same time notify people to proactively take precautions.

It is forecasted that from December 3 to 5, in Hue city, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, and very heavy rain in some places; total rainfall is generally 70 - 180 mm, in some places over 250 mm. The impact of heavy rain is likely to cause floods, flash floods, landslides, and rock slides in mountainous areas and along rivers and streams in wards and communes: communes from A Luoi 1 to A Luoi 5, Phong Dien, Long Quang, Nam Dong, Khe Tre, Phu Loc... In addition, heavy rain also risks causing flooding in low-lying areas downstream of rivers; localized flooding in urban areas and places with poor drainage systems.
