The Health Sector Trade Union, under the Provincial Federation of Labor, manages 33 grassroots trade unions with nearly 12,000 members. Over the years, the Health Sector Trade Union has played a significant role in uniting workers through various historical periods, particularly in the organizational restructuring of the Department of Health and its affiliated units.

In accordance with the policy on organizational restructuring, from June 15, 2025, four grassroots trade unions in administrative and public service agencies receiving 100% state budget funding under the Health Sector Trade Union will cease operations: the Department of Health, the Testing Center, the Dinh Quan District Health Center, and the Social Work Center and Children's Protection Fund. The remaining 29 grassroots trade unions with over 11,500 members will be transferred to the management of the Provincial Federation of Labor.

Speaking at the conference, Vice President of the Provincial Labor Union Bui Thi Nhan expressed her gratitude to the staff of the health sector's labor union. She also stated that the closure of the health sector's labor union is part of the overall policy of reorganizing the organizational structure from the central to local levels.

However, this is only a change in the management model, while union activities are still carried out according to the instructions and regulations of the union organization. The provincial union will directly manage the grassroots unions instead of the health sector union as before.

Deputy Director of the Department of Health, Vo Thi Ngoc Lam, highly appreciated the results of the Health Sector Trade Union's activities in the past period. Through these activities, the legitimate rights and interests of workers have been protected. The Department of Health leadership hopes that the Trade Union's activities will continue to deepen and become a reliable support for workers.

On this occasion, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded the medal "For the cause of building Vietnamese trade union organizations" to individuals of the Dong Nai Health Sector Trade Union.
