The rate of Vietnamese tourists seeking cool weather to escape the summer heat is up to 75%. Thanks to that, Da Lat has become the top name in the search rankings of Vietnamese tourists for the upcoming 5-day vacation during the April 30 and May 1 holidays, according to the Booking.com platform.
Go to the mountains, down to the sea to escape the heat
The latest report from this booking application, through research tracking searches between March 17 and April 6 with check-in dates between April 26 and May 1, shows a sudden increase in demand for choosing Da Lat in searches.
Da Lat city is famous for its cool mountain air and peaceful landscape, which is the choice of the majority. This place is also at the top of the list of domestic destinations that Vietnamese tourists are most looking for this holiday season.
Cool destinations to escape the heat as average temperatures rise are also gravitating towards locations near the sea.
Up to 82% of domestic tourists expressed a preference for waterfront destinations. This trend partly explains the "dominance" of coastal locations in the list of most searched domestic destinations.
Ranked second on the list of most interested Vietnamese tourists is Da Nang, a city famous for its charming beaches and bustling nightlife. Other destinations include Nha Trang, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An, Hue, Hanoi, Phan Thiet, Mui Ne.
According to travel companies, with the characteristics of this year's holidays, beach tours are mainly self-guided tours, with families using self-driving cars to experience new routes and highways.
Mr. Tran Thanh Vu, general director of Vinagroup Travel, said that the destinations are not only in Phan Thiet, Mui Ne but people tend to go further such as to Nha Trang, Phu Yen... with the form of F&E (Free & Easy) tours and optional tours designed according to the individual needs of the customer group.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that although the 5-day holiday for April 30 and May 1 was decided a bit late, some travel businesses in the area have proactively offered products to meet all the needs of tourists.
The attraction of inner city tours
Through the survey, there are still many businesses that prepare 3, 4, 5-day tourism products to serve domestic and international tourism needs of tourists and also long-term products.
"Of course, if there was an earlier plan, the promotion and introduction of tourism products would be more effective and proactive. However, through inspection, we noted that the business has been prepared. The products are ready, just need more marketing to increase the number of customers during the April 30 and May 1 holidays," Ms. Hoa believes.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the inner-city tour package launched during this year's holiday also promises to attract tourists. During this year's holiday, Saigontourist Travel opens the tour "Following the footsteps of Saigon Special Forces", visiting famous historical sites related to Saigon Special Forces, learning about the lives of secret heroes during the resistance period; TST has the tour "City by the Green River" to explore the destination of Thu Duc City.
Or Vietluxtour has a series of cultural and historical tours: Saigon Special Forces, Old Saigon - Today's Ho Chi Minh City, Memories of Saigon - Cho Lon, Proud Sac Forest - Future City, District 1 - Night Colors...
Businesses say that in the past, day tours mostly attracted middle-aged tourists. However, recently, the number of young tourists visiting has increased, showing the appeal of inner-city tours.
In particular, double-decker bus tours or river buses attract a large number of domestic and foreign tourists because of their attractiveness and novelty.
Visitors can see the city from above and pass by famous places such as: City Post Office, Ben Thanh Market, War Remnants Museum...
