The festival takes place until October 19 with the theme "Celebrating joint development cooperation".
About 40 German organizations and businesses in the fields of development cooperation, private sector, sports, culture and science will introduce to people and tourists many rich and attractive activities.
The festival is an opportunity to widely introduce to the public the strong partnership between Vietnam and Germany, a partnership based on mutual respect, equal cooperation and a common commitment to sustainable development.
German Ambassador to Vietnam, Ms. Helga Margarete Barth, spoke at the event. |
In her opening remarks, Ms. Helga Margarete Barth, German Ambassador to Vietnam, emphasized: “Over the past three decades, German development cooperation in Vietnam has accompanied the country's development process, for the benefit of the Vietnamese people, from initial support for social security to the current focus on global challenges, such as climate change, energy transition and sustainable growth.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Le Thi Thu Hang expressed: 50 years may not be a long journey but it is a meaningful period, when Germany has accompanied Vietnam in difficult times, throughout the Doi Moi process and the current socio-economic development. I am pleased to witness many booths today representing many effective areas of cooperation between the two countries, such as the career guidance bus in the field of vocational education and training, the magic cube that helps explore sustainable development in Vietnam through the application of technology, the cultural and sports exchange between the German women's football club and the Vietnamese people. I am very happy to know that up to 40 German organizations and businesses, along with representatives from the states of Bremen, Hessen and Thuringia, participated in this Festival. That shows that not only the Vietnam - Germany relationship in general has developed well, but the relationship between Vietnam and the states and cities of Germany is also of great interest to both sides to promote.
In Hanoi - the city honored by UNESCO as "City for Peace ", I hope that our two countries will continue to coordinate to promote international cooperation for peace, stability, security and sustainable development in each region and in the world, and effectively respond to current global challenges such as climate change, food security, energy security, epidemics... in the current world context, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang emphasized.
