Opening of Agricultural Products Week, Investment and Connection for Consumption of Products of Tuyen Quang Province in Hai Phong

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung – Director of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Investment Promotion Center – said: The Trade, Agricultural Products, Tourism , and Investment Week connecting the consumption of products from ethnic minority and mountainous areas of Tuyen Quang province in 2024 in Hai Phong City is an activity to promote investment, trade, and tourism; connect product consumption, create conditions for businesses, cooperatives, and production facilities between the two provinces and cities to have the opportunity to exchange experiences, contributing to promoting production and business and market development. It is also an opportunity for products and goods from ethnic minority and mountainous areas of Tuyen Quang province to reach a large number of people in Hai Phong, especially essential products for the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung – Director of the Investment Promotion Center of Tuyen Quang province, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.

Tuyen Quang is a mountainous province in northern Vietnam, home to 22 ethnic groups. The province has a total population of over 812,000 people, of which more than 445,000 are ethnic minorities, accounting for over 56% of the total population.

Over the past period, Tuyen Quang province has directed the construction and improvement of the effectiveness and efficiency of the grassroots political system in ethnic minority areas, effectively implementing the State's policies and laws on ethnic affairs. Particularly from 2021 to the present, the province has directed and implemented the national target program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, with 10 projects and 14 sub-projects. The province has accelerated the implementation of programs and projects for socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas. This includes strengthening the mobilization of resources to invest in infrastructure and socio-economic development for ethnic minority and mountainous communities. As a result, the material and spiritual lives of the people have gradually improved, social security has been ensured, and security in ethnic minority and religious areas has been maintained.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung emphasized: The 2024 Trade Week for agricultural products, tourism, and investment connecting the consumption of products from ethnic minority and mountainous areas of Tuyen Quang province is a series of activities in response to the development of the domestic market associated with the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods". Through this program, a connection is created between investment, trade, and tourism promotion activities; expanding cooperation, joint ventures, and linkages between Tuyen Quang province and other provinces and cities.

The Trade Week for agricultural products, tourism, and investment connecting the consumption of products from ethnic minority and mountainous areas of Tuyen Quang province in 2024, held in Hai Phong from December 13th to 15th, 2024, will feature over 60 booths from 40 businesses and cooperatives showcasing distinctive products, OCOP products, handicrafts, and traditional village products of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas in Tuyen Quang province.

The program organizers also encourage businesses, cooperatives, and individual business owners to organize promotional campaigns, discounts, and ensure the quality of goods and food safety and hygiene.

A diverse range of handicrafts from ethnic minority communities in Tuyen Quang province participated in the program.

Arriving in Hai Phong on the afternoon of December 13th, Ms. Le Thi Tuyet Trinh from Lam Binh district, Tuyen Quang province, shared: "This is my first time in Hai Phong and participating in the trade week program. I hope to spread the culinary culture of the Northwest region to Hai Phong city and neighboring provinces and cities. Because the products are fresh pork and smoked buffalo meat, the preparation for participating in the trade week was very thorough, taking about 5 days to ensure quality and food safety."

Also wishing to promote regional specialties from Tuyen Quang province to Hai Phong city, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tung – owner of Vinh Loan OCOP store, located in Group 8, Na Hang town, Na Hang district, Tuyen Quang province – brought OCOP products such as dried bamboo shoots, herbs, turmeric, etc., to serve the consumption needs of Hai Phong people.
