With the theme "Trends and Opportunities in Vietnam," the workshop revolved around issues related to the development orientation of the green innovation ecosystem in Ho Chi Minh City; global trends in green, sustainable, and digital transformation startups; and Ho Chi Minh City's policies supporting startups in the field of green development…
In the context of a global shift towards green and sustainable development, Vietnam has made important commitments such as Net Zero by 2050, a green growth strategy, and numerous policies prioritizing innovation.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City is leading the way with programs supporting green and innovative startups, encouraging digital transformation, applying artificial intelligence (AI), and technological solutions to enhance competitiveness.

Ms. Le Thi Be Ba, Deputy Director of Sihub, said that in recent years, Ho Chi Minh City has issued many policies to support green innovation startups such as tax exemptions and reductions, non-refundable financial support, Sandbox mechanisms, and interest rate subsidies. In 2024 and 2025, Sihub is implementing a program to select and incubate innovative startup projects and businesses in the field of sustainable development, from the idea stage to acceleration, in accordance with Resolution 20/2023/NQ-HĐND.
According to Ms. Vu Kim Anh, Deputy Director of the Business Research and Support Center (BSA), the global trend is moving towards a circular model, recycling and reusing waste as raw materials.
In Vietnam, many businesses have applied technology to create unique features for each product, focusing on protecting consumer health, enhancing product experience, and thereby contributing to promoting a circular economy , reducing plastic waste and environmental pollution.

“Many green startups in Vietnam have been successful, creating livelihoods for ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, and vulnerable groups; these projects focus on recycling agricultural by-products and developing products from local resources. In addition, many green startup projects receive support to expand their markets through international networking or by raising capital from investment funds…,” Ms. Vu Kim Anh further shared.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GC Food Joint Stock Company, believes that resources cannot be wasted; things that are no longer usable for human consumption can be processed and brought back into the cycle. With this perspective, Mr. Thu has gradually brought GC Food products to the international market and supported hundreds of farmers in practicing green farming practices.
