NDO - In the joyful atmosphere of celebrating Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20th, Hanoi University of Education held the 2024 Academic Award Ceremony for the field of Sino-Vietnamese Studies, named after Professor, Doctor, and People's Teacher Nguyen Ngoc San.
This is a meaningful activity aimed at honoring the professor's contributions to the research and teaching of Sino-Vietnamese studies, and at the same time encouraging the younger generation to continue this valuable tradition.
Professor, Doctor, and People's Teacher Nguyen Ngoc San is a leading linguist and expert in the field of Sino-Vietnamese studies. His research achievements not only have scientific significance but also immense practical value, contributing to enriching the treasury of human knowledge.
Professor Nguyen Ngoc San was awarded the prestigious State Prize in 2012 for his contributions to the research and preservation of Vietnamese culture, especially the ancient Han Nom language.
The field of Sino-Vietnamese studies is not just for those who love ancient culture. It is also an important bridge between the past and the present, helping us to better understand our national identity and guide our future. Research and development of Sino-Vietnamese studies is a crucial task, not only for researchers but for society as a whole.

With the aim of encouraging and honoring young talents in the field of Sino-Vietnamese studies, the Nguyen Ngoc San Award, organized annually by the family of Professor Nguyen Ngoc San in collaboration with the Faculty of Literature, Hanoi Pedagogical University, recognizes doctoral students, master's students, and undergraduate students who have successfully defended their dissertations, theses, and dissertations and won high awards for their research topics in the field of Sino-Vietnamese studies.
The award is funded by the Professor's family. This contributes to the preservation and promotion of the value of the treasure trove of Chinese characters, an indispensable part of Vietnam's cultural heritage.
At the 2024 awards ceremony, representatives from Hanoi Pedagogical University, the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Literature, the Dean's Office of the Department of Sino-Vietnamese Studies, and lawyer Nguyen Do Tung Cuong (Chairman of the Vietnam Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Association; Standing Vice President of the Vietnam-Austria Friendship Association) – the son and representative of Professor, Doctor, People's Teacher Nguyen Ngoc San – presented 15 awards for successful defense and high-scoring dissertations and theses in Sino-Vietnamese Studies to one doctoral candidate, four master's students, and ten undergraduate students.
