On the afternoon of December 24, the People's Committee of Kien Giang province informed that the province had just Issue a pilot plan to expand the night operating hours of ships and ferries on fixed routes from shore to islands in Kien Giang waters.

Accordingly, the night operating hours for high-speed boats and ferries participating in the pilot on the waterway transport route from shore to island (maritime and inland waterway) include: from 4:00 to 6:00 a.m. and from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. The pilot implementation period is until December 31, 2025.

The People's Committee of Kien Giang province requested the provincial Department of Transport to coordinate with relevant agencies to organize management, exploitation and approval for businesses to register for fixed passenger transport activities on waterway routes from shore to the island.

Kien Giang Province Hydrometeorological Station provides timely weather forecasts as a basis for licensing ships and ferries on the route to operate safely.

The pilot aims to promote tourism development in Kien Giang province and create satisfaction for tourists, contributing to promoting tourism development in the new period to become a key economic sector. Thereby contributing to businesses recovering and developing production and business in the field of water transport from shore to island and people, officers and soldiers of island districts to travel more conveniently.
