Speaking at the awards ceremony, journalist Doan Hong Phuc, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Kien Giang Provincial Journalists Association, said that for the 2023 Kien Giang Provincial Journalism Awards, the organizing committee received 150 journalistic works from authors inside and outside the province. Of these, 55 works were in print and online journalism, 27 in radio journalism, 41 in television journalism, and 27 in photojournalism and news photography.

Compared to 2022, this year's Kien Giang Provincial Journalism Award has seen improvements in all three aspects: the number of authors, the number of entries, and the quality of the works. Specifically, the number of entries increased by 28, and the number of authors also increased by 30%.
The entries submitted to the Kien Giang Provincial Journalism Award 2023 vividly reflect the achievements of Kien Giang province, imbued with the spirit of life; promptly disseminate good experiences, innovations, and effective methods; spread the spirit of learning and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh ; and discover new factors and advanced models in Party building, people's government building, and active social activities.
The judging panel selected 48 outstanding works from 150 entries in the 2023 Kien Giang Provincial Journalism Award. The organizing committee awarded 5 first prizes, 9 second prizes, 13 third prizes, and 21 consolation prizes across 5 journalistic categories...
On this occasion, the Vietnam Journalists Association awarded a Certificate of Merit to the Kien Giang Provincial Journalists Association for its outstanding achievements in fulfilling its tasks in the field of journalism and innovating professional work in 2022; 7 individuals were awarded the Commemorative Medal for the Cause of Journalism; 10 journalists were admitted to the Vietnam Journalists Association; 12 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee for outstanding achievements in the thematic emulation movement in 2022; and the Provincial Journalists Association awarded Certificates of Merit to 12 journalists and reporters.
