Lac Duong commune was established on the basis of merging 3 communes: Da Sar, Da Nhim, Da Chais of the old Lac Duong district, with a total area of 828.01 km2 , 14 villages, 3,390 households, population of 14,525 people, of which ethnic minorities are 11,978 people, accounting for 82.4% of the total population of the commune.

According to the Party Secretary of Lac Duong Commune Ya Tiong, before the merger, the socio-economic situation of the three old communes in the first 6 months of 2025 continued to develop, the economic structure shifted positively. Agricultural, industrial and construction production grew quite well; forest management and protection were strengthened. Culture, society and education were invested in and developed comprehensively; social security was ensured, the religious and ethnic situation was stable. Administrative reform, citizen reception, settlement of complaints and denunciations continued to be focused on and implemented effectively, national defense and security were maintained... The work of Party building and the political system was focused on and directed synchronously in all fields...
Lac Duong Commune Party Secretary Ya Tiong said that promoting the potential and advantages of the old communes when merging is an important premise for Lac Duong commune to develop in the coming time. In particular, with the strength of agricultural production, the locality identifies this as the focus in socio-economic development, including developing high-tech agriculture with crops that bring high economic efficiency such as vegetables, flowers, strawberries, Arabica coffee typical of the locality... At the same time, tourism is also the potential of Lac Duong commune when this place is considered a "destination" for cultural tourism with unique cultural features of indigenous ethnic groups. Especially when the province invests in the K'Ho Traditional Village in Dung K'si hamlet under the project of Preserving each typical traditional village of ethnic minorities, aiming to preserve local traditional culture associated with building attractive community tourism spots.

According to Lac Duong Commune Party Secretary Ya Tiong, the potential and advantages are huge but the commune also faces many difficulties. Currently, the multidimensional poverty rate of the whole commune is 1.36%, of which poor households account for 0.12% and near-poor households account for 1.24%. Therefore, Lac Duong commune has set out key tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of the year so that the commune can operate and develop.
In particular, focus on developing coffee production and forming value chains in production, processing and consumption of agricultural products. Strengthening the promotion of cooperative economic development and cooperatives. Improving the effectiveness of agricultural extension work and developing OCOP products. At the same time, continue to effectively implement the direction of superiors on tourism development; focus on effectively exploiting the potential, advantages and resources of the locality in developing tourism - services; create a favorable environment and conditions to attract investment, synchronously develop various types of tourism - services to create new, diverse and attractive tourism products to attract tourists.
Along with that, effectively integrate national target programs; research and propose new investment policies, upgrade and improve infrastructure, technology, culture and society in ethnic minority areas. Mobilize investment resources to reduce poverty and create jobs effectively and sustainably; effectively implement social security policies; strengthen state management of beliefs and religions, maintain political security, social order and safety...
