According to the report of Khanh Hoa Coal Company - VVMI and Nui Hong Coal Company - VVMI, due to the impact of the Matmo storm circulation (storm No. 11), heavy rain occurred over a large area in Thai Nguyen province on October 6-7, 2025, with rainfall ranging from 250-400 mm, in some places over 500 mm, causing most areas to be flooded, exceeding the historical flood peak set during storm Yagi in 2024. Khanh Hoa Coal Company - VVMI suffered landslides in some areas, damaging roads and power poles; the dike line adjacent to the stream blocking the moong area showed signs of erosion and water seepage; the amount of water flowing into the moong increased by 1.1-1.2 million m3 of water..., at the same time, many families of cadres and workers were isolated and could not enter the mine. The company has actively responded to the flood, arranged equipment, on-duty forces, handled affected areas so that the waste disposal area did not collapse; coordinated to handle and reinforce the dike..., by the first shift on October 10, production had returned to normal. At the same time, organized forces to help 121 flooded families of workers clean up their houses, gave essential necessities, and supported 3-5 million VND/family.

Nui Hong Coal Company - VVMI, the coal conveyor belt was flooded, about 135,000 m3 of water went into the mine, some points were eroded..., the Company has repaired the conveyor belt and by October 9, it was back in operation to supply coal to Cao Ngan Thermal Power Plant. The Company also mobilized forces to help the families of workers who were flooded, supporting 53 families of workers with 5 million VND/family, with a total amount of 265 million VND.

According to the report of Director of TKV Environment Company Limited Vu Van Hung, the Khanh Hoa Coal Mine Wastewater Treatment Station under the Company's management was also flooded. The Company directed and coordinated with units and authorities to fix and handle the problem and by October 12, it was back in operation.

At the meeting, the Committees participated with units in overcoming the impact of floods, especially handling the dike line adjacent to the stream blocking the moong area of ​​Khanh Hoa Coal Company - VVMI; reinforcing against landslides, waterproofing the moong area; handling the conveyor belt line of Nui Hong Coal Company - VVMI...; units have long-term plans to respond to natural disasters and floods.

Speaking on behalf of the Group's leaders, Deputy General Director Nguyen Huy Nam shared the losses and acknowledged and commended the units in overcoming the effects of floods and quickly stabilizing production. At the same time, he requested the units to continue reviewing the mines and affected areas, and to overcome the remaining tasks; and work with the consulting unit to have a plan to handle the dike line adjacent to the stream blocking the moong area of ​​Khanh Hoa Coal Company - VVMI to be completed in November 2025; the repair costs need to be reported to the Group, and the documents must be complete and in accordance with regulations. In the face of increasingly complicated weather conditions, Deputy General Director of the Group Nguyen Huy Nam emphasized that the units need to develop a higher level of disaster prevention and control - search and rescue plan, effectively responding to floods in the long term; Coordinate with localities in combat operations to respond to natural disasters and floods, ensure safety in production, and complete production and business plans and tasks.
