In order to improve the quality of statistical information and ensure the progress of the 2023 program to survey and collect information on the socio -economic situation of 53 ethnic minority groups, the leaders of the General Statistics Office and a delegation from the Central Government recently visited Ninh Binh for inspection and supervision.
Implementing the 2024 survey plan for 53 ethnic minority groups, the Ninh Binh Statistics Department conducted a sample survey in 34 locations across 8 communes. Of these, 7 communes in Nho Quan district are classified as ethnic minority areas (according to Decision No. 861/QD-TTg dated June 4, 2021, of the Prime Minister), and 1 commune in Tam Diep city, although not classified as an ethnic minority area, was included in the survey. 100% of the survey areas are in rural regions.
To ensure the survey proceeded smoothly and on schedule, the Statistics Department selected 14 supervisors, 8 survey team leaders, 17 surveyors to collect household questionnaires, and 2 surveyors to complete the commune questionnaires. The compilation of the survey lists was completed in 34 areas (equivalent to 4,427 households), including: 1 area with a complete survey of 146 households; and 33 areas with a sample survey of 4,218 households.
During on-site visits to the survey area and participation in interviews with surveyors at households in Tam Diep city and Nho Quan district, the working group acknowledged and highly appreciated the good coordination between the Statistics Department and local authorities, departments, and agencies, creating favorable conditions for the implementation of the survey. In addition, members of the Central Monitoring Team also pointed out some areas that surveyors need to be aware of during interviews, to avoid confusing respondents; and suggested that questionnaires from communes should be collected from multiple sources.
According to reports as of July 11th, the entire province has completed the survey of 151 out of 1,092 households, achieving 13.83% of the plan.
