
On July 22nd, in Hanoi, the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army held a press conference to provide information about the 14th All-Army Television Festival in 2024.
The festival took place on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day, and the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army.
The All-Army Television Festival is an opportunity for the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army to assess the quality of television broadcasting activities of military units in coordination with newspapers and radio stations nationwide.
This is an opportunity for television professionals throughout the military to meet, exchange, and learn from each other's experiences in journalism and television broadcasting in light of the development trends of modern television and the need to improve the quality of programs disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations in the cause of national construction and defense; military and defense activities and Party work, political work associated with the three functions of the Vietnam People's Army; and at the same time, to further spread the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era on central, regional, and local television stations as well as on social media platforms.

Major General Nguyen Kim Ton, Director of the Military Radio and Television Center and Head of the Organizing Committee of the 14th All-Army Television Festival in 2024, affirmed: From 1995 to the present, the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army has organized 13 festivals with a regular frequency of twice every five years. The success of the previous 13 festivals has always been significantly contributed to by propaganda work.
Press agencies nationwide have consistently supported and encouraged television professionals in the military by extensively publicizing the purpose and significance of the Festival; publishing and broadcasting the submitted works, especially the winning entries, as well as activities at the festival and the growth of the military's television workforce.
Major General Nguyen Kim Ton also stated: The organizing committee received 419 entries for the festival in four categories: 211 news reports, 63 documentaries, 24 educational programs, and 121 special features, submitted by 136 units throughout the army. The festival's award structure is as follows: Gold medals: 10-15%, silver medals: 20-25%, Certificates of Merit for authors with excellent works: 35%.
Within the framework of this festival, in addition to exchange and learning activities through submitted works, the Organizing Committee will hold the following activities: a professional seminar on the theme "Innovation and improvement of the quality of the 'National Defense for All' and 'For Border Security and Sovereignty ' sections"; an exhibition of images on journalistic activities throughout the military submitted by various units; and a Television Technology Exhibition with the participation of 6 companies.
These activities will provide delegates with opportunities to discuss and share their professional experiences in greater depth, as well as to access current new television broadcasting technologies.
In addition, delegates will participate in practical activities at historical sites in the ATK (Vietnamese Resistance Zone), the Memorial Area for Youth Volunteers of Company 915, and the Z115, Z131, and Z127 factories of the General Department of Defense Industry in Thai Nguyen province; they will also visit a tea culture space organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen province; and there will be policy and mass mobilization activities in several communes in Thai Nguyen.
