Local flash floods caused mud to overflow into Thanh Tin Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities.

Due to prolonged heavy rain, at about 1:30 a.m. on September 9, 2025, in Thanh Tin commune, Tuyen Quang province, flash floods occurred, water and mud flooded into the campus of Thanh Tin Primary and Secondary Boarding School, including the boarding and living area of ​​301 students. As soon as the flash floods appeared, teachers, officers and soldiers of Thanh Tin Border Guard Station, the commune militia and local authorities evacuated all 301 students to safety.

Regarding the damage, 3 concrete embankments of the school were eroded, unsafe, more than 200m3 of earth and rock flooded into the school area. All mattresses, blankets, clothes and school and daily necessities of 301 students were completely damaged.

Currently, the school has evacuated all students to temporarily stay at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Thanh Tin commune (old), and at the same time coordinated with local authorities to purchase boarding equipment for students, as well as clear rocks and soil, and overcome the consequences of floods.
