“Watch Tiktok to earn extra income”, with this attractive invitation, many people did not research clearly, even despite warnings, continued to participate to earn money and fell into this "easy job, high salary" scam.

Although the media and authorities have warned many times, recently, many people continue to fall into the trap of scams on social networks. The scams also change constantly in methods and tricks, causing many people to easily lose large sums of money. Among them, making money by "surfing" TikTok is one of the scams that is becoming more and more complicated.

The scam tricks are not new, the victims are always new.

TikTok is a social network (MXH) and making money from TikTok is nothing strange to everyone. However, just sitting and surfing TikTok to earn money needs to be reviewed. To make money on Tiktok, users must directly produce content, videos , PR products, or do business, ... otherwise, users will not benefit from this platform. Because, TikTok does not pay people to watch videos. Therefore, attractive jobs advertised as just watching, liking, following TikTok to earn money with an income of hundreds of thousands of VND/day are also tricks to scam.

Their trick is to download apps, intermediary websites, and perform task packages named by level such as VIP 1, VIP 2, VIP 3... corresponding to prices from several hundred thousand to several million, even several hundred million,... The higher the price of the task package, the more videos you watch and the bigger the commission.

The story of Ms. CCH (30 years old, residing in Thach That district, Hanoi ) is a typical example. Ms. H. said that not long ago, while she was using Facebook, an account named Nam Garena texted her about a job watching TikTok to earn extra income.

When she agreed, this account sent her a link and told her to send this link with the syntax "42gtcv" to a Facebook user named Minh Hoang.

After Minh Hoang received the message, this subject told Ms. H. to download the Telegram application. After downloading Telegram, a person in this application continued to send Ms. H. a link to download the zingmp3 App to start using the game to earn extra income.

Ms. H.'s first job was to deposit 160,000 VND, and immediately she earned 240,000 VND. On the second time, Ms. H. deposited 350,000 VND and immediately earned 450,000 VND.

After offering many levels of play, the lowest being 5.4 million, earning a 30% commission, Ms. H. continued to enter when an account in the group informed her that she had an error, and that if she wanted to withdraw money, she had to deposit 28 million VND.

At this point, the scam story really began when the subjects continuously asked Ms. H. to deposit from 28, to 108, 245 and 275 million VND to upgrade to VIP 1. Worried because the amount of money borrowed from relatives poured in was too much, wanting to withdraw as quickly as possible, but regretting the loss, Ms. H. still let the scammers use many words to lure her. Ms. H. said that she only really woke up when the subjects told her to deposit another 494 million VND to have 100% to upgrade to 55% of the VIP1 process, then she could withdraw all the money.

Thus, according to Ms. H., from the time she started playing until she came to her senses, she had transferred nearly 700 million VND to this group of people. She has submitted a petition to the authorities, but up to now, there has been no response.

According to Ms. H., another trick of the scammers to make players trust is that there will be about 2-3 people in the same group playing with them. These people can easily get money from the scammers. From there, it makes players like her trust and want to follow the mission to the end.

Disguised mission, calling for investment then suddenly disappearing

Making money online from TikTok video interactions is essentially a form of creating disguised tasks to call on users to deposit money and then suddenly disappear to appropriate assets. Most websites operate anonymously, with unclear origins, so it is very difficult to resolve risks when they encounter them. In addition to being scammed out of money, victims who participate in surfing TikTok to earn money are also at risk of having their personal information stolen, because when participating, the first thing is to provide information and bank accounts for transactions, no one keeps personal information confidential in this case, so there are more potential risks later.

Beware of online scams has been warned many times by the authorities and on many media. But until now, there are still new victims. Victims of these scams, after calming down, all have the same opinion, partly due to lack of knowledge, mostly due to greed. Because, there is no job, no need to spend labor, brainpower but have high income.

So, if you are scammed online, can you get your money back? Answering this question, lawyer Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Head of the Connect Law Office (Hanoi Bar Association) said that the subjects will never voluntarily return the money to the victim and there is no way that the subjects will negotiate or bargain. The information that the subjects give you is all fake and deceitful and it is very difficult to contact and find these subjects.

Therefore, in this case, the victim has only one way to report to the police station where he/she resides, which will then be resolved according to the procedural process and you will be considered the victim. During the resolution process, the procedural agencies will verify and confiscate the amount of the violation, or the subjects will remedy the consequences. In this case, the victims will have the opportunity to repay the money according to the effective judgment of the Court and execute the judgment.
