In recent years, the provincial Fatherland Front at all levels has continuously promoted its core role in actively propagating and mobilizing people to unite, unify, and join hands to preserve and promote the traditional cultural identity of the nation, creating endogenous resources, contributing to socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security in the new situation.

Quang Ninh currently has 22 ethnic groups, with about 1.2 million people. Each ethnic group has its own unique identity and culture. In order to promote the fine traditional values of the ethnic groups, over the years, closely following the resolutions of the central government and the province, most recently Resolution No. 17-NQ/TU (dated October 30, 2023) of the Provincial Party Committee "On building and promoting cultural values, the strength of Quang Ninh people to become an endogenous resource, a driving force for rapid and sustainable development", the provincial Fatherland Front at all levels has promoted its core and pioneering role in propagating and mobilizing people to unite and join hands to develop traditional culture, eliminate outdated, backward, superstitious thoughts and cultures, and organize many cultural and artistic activities associated with the fine customs of the community.

Each locality, region, and residential area in the province has different characteristics, but all have creative ways to preserve the cultural identity of ethnic groups. In the mountainous district of Ba Che, a locality with a large population of ethnic minorities, the district's Fatherland Front Committee annually issues plans to communes and towns to promote the sense of responsibility of union members and members in propagating and mobilizing people to eliminate backward customs and build a new cultural life, associated with preserving and promoting the national cultural identity, creating a healthy cultural environment in each community, contributing to preserving fine customs and traditions, preserving the good traditional cultural values of the nation, especially implementing a civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals and festivals, eliminating backward customs in many rural areas.

Comrade Hoang Ngoc Quyen, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Ba Che district, said: Through the implementation of campaigns, households, especially ethnic minority households, have implemented a civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals, festivals, gradually abandoning backward customs, practices, and superstitions that affect the economy, health, and environment. Many households have changed their thinking and ways of doing things, no longer relying on the support and assistance of the State, and have risen up from poverty with their own internal strength.

Dam Ha district has the characteristics of both forests and seas, many traditional cultural features, the district Fatherland Front at all levels has advised the local Party Committee and government to build projects and models for economic development associated with preserving the national cultural identity. Typical examples include the establishment and maintenance of Nha To singing clubs in Dam Ha commune; Dam Ha communal house festival; San Co singing and traditional Dao ethnic costume sewing and embroidery in Quang An commune; restoration of traditional festivals of Trang Y communal house in Dai Binh commune; Dai Phan festival of San Diu ethnic group in Quang An commune; Ba Nhat fair and Cau Tinh culinary area in Quang An commune...

Customs and folk games with the identity of ethnic minorities in Dam Ha are regularly organized in events, anniversaries, holidays and Tet every year, to preserve diverse cultural identity and create a joyful and exciting atmosphere.

Ms. Ly Soi Thong (Na Pa village, Quang An commune, Dam Ha district) said: We are very happy and excited when the Party and State pay attention to us, not only investing in technical infrastructure and supporting production development, but also creating conditions for people to preserve and promote the fine traditional cultural identity of our nation, and access other unique traditional cultural features of the Vietnamese people. This motivates us to love our homeland and country more, to stick to the forest and the sea to develop the economy and improve our income.

By exploiting natural potential and promoting traditional cultural values, Dam Ha district has become the first locality in the country to meet advanced NTM standards according to the National Criteria for the 2021-2025 period, gradually striving to become a model NTM district by 2025.

Comrade Nguyen Van Hoi, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, said: As a core force, the Fatherland Front at all levels has done a good job of preserving and promoting cultural identity and connecting development among ethnic groups living together in the community. Among many meaningful tasks of the Fatherland Front, it has maintained the organization of the National Great Unity Day in residential areas with many practical and unique innovations, contributing to preserving, conserving and promoting traditional cultural values of the locality. Especially in the past 2 years (2022, 2023), the Festival has been organized simultaneously in one day in 1,452/1,452 residential areas, attracting a large number of people to participate, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere, truly a Festival for all people.
