In Khanh Hoa province , 18-year-old Nguyen Gia Hung received a 490 million VND transfer from a stranger. He and his father went to a bank in Cam Ranh City to verify the transaction and return the money.
A male student from class 12A9 at Ngo Gia Tu High School (Cam Ranh City) said the money was transferred on March 25th. However, Hung didn't notice it at the time and only discovered it the next day.
"My dad set up this account for me to pay my tuition fees, and when I unexpectedly received a large sum of money, I was both worried and nervous," Hung said, adding that he was about to tell his family when his dad received a call from someone claiming to be the account holder asking him to transfer the money back.

After verifying the name and account number, which matched, Hung's father arranged for the person who mistakenly transferred the money to come to the bank the next day to return it. "My account has a limit on transferring large sums of money at once, so I asked the bank for assistance. It's both more accurate and more reassuring," Hung said.
Ms. Pham Thi Huong, residing in Hai Duong - the person who mistakenly transferred money - said that two days ago she transferred money for business purposes via bank account. The next day, her business partner said they had not received the money, causing her to panic. Upon checking, she realized she had transferred the money by mistake. Following advice from the bank, she contacted the bank account number (which was also Hung's father's phone number).
Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen, Principal of Ngo Gia Tu High School, assessed Hung as a sociable student with a strong work ethic. "The school will award him a certificate of merit and commend him to spread this good deed," Ms. Yen said.
