Watch the 'beasts' compete at the world jet ski race

TPO - Jet skis costing tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of USD have gathered at Thi Nai Lagoon (Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province) to compete in the UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship, which started on March 23rd.

By the afternoon of March 21st, 62 of the world's best jet ski racers, from 26 countries, along with their impressive jet skis, had arrived in Quy Nhon City to prepare for the Pole Position race on the morning of March 23rd, promising to bring Vietnamese audiences some fierce competition.

According to the athletes, each jet ski brought to the race costs an average of $30,000 to over $100,000 (equivalent to 750 million to nearly 2.5 billion VND).

The jet skis are meticulously inspected by athletes, coaches, and technical staff of the racing teams before being launched into the water. Even a minor malfunction or defect in the skis can affect the performance of the entire racing team.

According to the athletes, taking care of these "beasts" requires technical and mechanical expertise. Besides racing, the athletes must know how to handle problems when the motorcycles encounter issues.

After a thorough technical inspection, the racers will take the "beasts" down to Thi Nai Lagoon for a test run.

Any malfunctions or problems with the motorcycles will be rectified by the athletes and technical team to achieve the best possible race results.
