The People's Committee of Nghe An province established an inter-agency inspection team to conduct a comprehensive inspection of a limestone powder production facility in Nghi Loc district where 8 workers were found to have lung infections from dust; of which, 3 died, and the remaining 5 are experiencing declining health.
According to a report from the Nghi Loc District People's Committee, the district recently received reports from four communes: Nghi Hung, Nghi Phuong, Nghi Thuan, and Nghi Dong, stating that eight residents working at Chau Tien Limited Liability Company, which specializes in producing limestone powder, have contracted pneumoconiosis.
Of those, 3 died and 5 others are being treated at medical facilities in critical condition, requiring lung lavage, experiencing shortness of breath, oxygen support, declining health, and difficulty walking... The three deceased worked at the same facility at the same time.

Regarding the workers at Chau Tien Limited Company who were infected with dust in their lungs, the Deputy Director of Nghe An Lung Hospital, Thai Dinh Lam, said that the hospital is currently treating patient HVS (47 years old), residing in Nghi Hung commune (Nghi Loc district). This patient is in critical condition and requires mechanical ventilation.
Other patients were taken home by their families in a weakened state, with difficulty walking, lung complications, shortness of breath, etc.
According to the leaders of Nghi Loc District People's Committee, immediately after receiving the report, the district organized visits to the families of the workers; and reported to the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board and relevant departments and agencies.

At the meeting, representatives from the participating agencies unanimously agreed to request Chau Tien Limited Liability Company to visit and encourage the families of employees working at the company; to conduct workplace environmental monitoring at the company; to review employees subject to mandatory social insurance, immediately implement the payment of mandatory social insurance contributions, and organize medical examinations for employees.
After assessing the situation, the People's Committee of Nghe An province established an inter-agency inspection team to conduct a comprehensive inspection of Chau Tien Limited Liability Company, focusing on occupational disease investigations, workplace environmental inspections, and the implementation of social insurance policies for employees. The inspection period is 45 days, starting from the date of the decision's announcement.
Chau Tien Limited Liability Company is located in Zone A, Nam Cam Industrial Park, Southeast Economic Zone, Nghi Long commune, Nghi Loc district. This company specializes in the production of limestone powder, with a registered total investment of 280 billion VND and currently employs 33 workers.
