Motorcyclists have the highest rate of alcohol violations.

On the morning of October 20, the Traffic Police Department announced that, in a special campaign to simultaneously check alcohol levels of drivers participating in traffic, in two time frames from 12:30 to 14:30 and from 19:30 to 22:30 on October 19, with a total time of 5 hours, the Traffic Police force of the local Public Security controlled 119,585 drivers (3,838 passenger cars, 9,366 trucks, 27,585 cars, 76,932 motorbikes, 50 special-purpose cars, 1,814 rudimentary vehicles). Through inspection, 4,515 cases were detected and recorded for handling (20 trucks, 127 cars, 4,307 motorbikes, 61 rudimentary vehicles and other vehicles).

Of which, the shift from 12:30 to 14:30 controlled 58,187 drivers, detected and recorded 1,927 cases. The shift from 19:30 to 22:30 controlled 61,398 vehicles, detected and recorded 2,588 cases.

From these figures, it can be seen that the number of people violating the concentration in the evening is higher than at noon, when the rate of violations compared to the number of checks in the afternoon is 3.31%, in the evening is 4.21%. While passenger car drivers comply very well with the regulations on not drinking alcohol and driving, motorcyclists have the least awareness, the number of violations accounts for nearly 5.6%, followed by rudimentary vehicles 3.36%, cars 0.46%, trucks 0.21%.

Analyzing the age of violations, there were 65 cases under 18 years old (accounting for 1.4%); 1,179 cases from 18 to 35 years old (accounting for 26.1%); 2,577 cases from 36 to 55 years old (accounting for 57.1%); 628 cases from over 55 years old (accounting for 14%); of which there were 19 female violations (18 motorbikes and 1 electric bicycle).

In total, during the 2 days of implementing the topic of controlling alcohol concentration on traffic routes nationwide at a certain time frame according to the Telegram 939/HT of the Director of the Traffic Police Department, the Traffic Police force of 34 provinces and cities controlled 231,127 vehicle drivers; detected and recorded and handled 8,344 violations. The violation rate accounted for 3.61%.
