Prenn Pass (Lam Dong) temporarily opens to traffic from December 5-7

On December 5, the Department of Transport of Lam Dong province announced the temporary resumption of traffic on the Prenn Pass road in Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat, Lam Dong province from December 5 to December 7, 2025.

Previously, at noon on December 4, a large amount of rock, soil, and trees slid down from the slope onto the road of Prenn Pass, the gateway from the southern provinces to the center of Da Lat, the provincial capital of Lam Dong .

According to the announcement of the Department of Construction, based on the repair and landslide situation on the Prenn Pass road section Km224+600- Km224+700 in Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat up to the present time and in order to ensure traffic for people and tourists to Da Lat city (old), the Department of Construction announces to allow people and vehicles (except trucks) to temporarily circulate on the Prenn Pass road from December 5 to December 7, 2025.

The time frame allowed to travel through Prenn Pass is specific for each day, in which on December 5 from 9:00 to 22:00; on December 6 and 7 from 5:00 to 22:00. Outside the above time frame, people and vehicles must comply with Notice No. 474/TB-SXD dated December 4, 2025 of the Department of Construction with the content of prohibiting people and vehicles from traveling through the landslide location until further notice to continue repairing this pass. Traffic direction for vehicles to Da Lat and vice versa, in 3 directions: Mimosa Pass direction for all types of vehicles to travel in two directions. Sacom Tuyen Lam Pass direction for all types of vehicles (except trucks) from Lien Khuong Expressway turn left into Sacom Tuyen Lam, to the center of Da Lat and vice versa. Ta Nung Pass direction (DT.725) for all types of vehicles to travel in two directions.

The leaders of the Department of Construction said that currently, the situation of rain and storms is complicated in the province, at the same time, construction units are continuing to repair and overcome the route. Therefore, the Department of Construction recommends that people and vehicles, when traveling through the Prenn Pass during the above time, pay attention to the current status of the route to promptly handle any incidents that may occur. People and vehicles should proactively slow down, comply with traffic signs and traffic diversion plans in areas where construction and repair work is being organized on the route.

The Department of Construction requested the Provincial Traffic Police Department and the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat to support the arrangement of forces to regularly patrol and control, ensuring smooth and safe traffic during the construction and repair of Prenn Pass; Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 1 directed the construction unit to regularly inspect and review to organize the installation of road signaling systems in accordance with the construction organization plan and actual traffic flow on the route; at the same time, arrange forces to direct traffic flow.

On the evening of December 5, the opening ceremony of the International Tea Festival will take place at Lam Vien Square - Da Lat, expected to have the participation of Government leaders, along with representatives of more than 30 foreign embassies and 30 international and domestic enterprises...

Previously, on December 4, VNA reporters reported that due to heavy rain on the night of December 3, some mountain passes leading to Da Lat (the center of Lam Dong province) were eroded and impassable. In particular, Prenn Pass, the main gateway to Da Lat city, was severely eroded at noon on December 4. By the afternoon of December 4, authorities had repaired and cleared the Mimosa Pass, and authorities were diverting traffic to the center of Lam Dong province through Mimosa, Sacom and Ta Nung passes.
